VW is making electric that fit spare wheel

Volkswagen show off an electric folding bike that can fit into the spare wheel space. It was launch in China , 2010 Beijing auto show.

Clever, but I find it suspicious that there is a rideable prototype, yet the folding in that promo is only done as an animation - even though the guy is riding it right around the parked car. methinks there is some clever engineering that has yet to be proven . . .

Very cool design. However, without functioning pedals it is illegal on most roads in the States.
