I hope these guys have very elastic skin.

To some extend the skin IS elastic. When he lost the 70 pounds he wasn't toned but the old stomach wasn't empty and flopping around.

Now I don't think he'll need elastic skin, no sign he gives a whit about losing any weight. He's a mess.

ive lost just on 19kg over the last 3 and a half months.

i too am counting calories.its the only thing that has ever worked for me.
my goal is still about 2-3kg away.

my recent weight loss has worked wonders for my liver function and cholesterol numbers.

my starting weight was 95.2kg or 209 lbs my target is 75kg or 165 lbs.
this weight loss was DR ordered.....

im using an app called my fitness pal to track my calorific intake.
its free and super simple to use, and the best part is i haven't had to give up any foods.
(with one exception, switched coke for coke zero and Pepsi max)

i just have to be more careful how much im eating, combined with a little exercise.

I was advised by my doctor to take niacin to raise HDL. I found that even timed release niacin would cause hot flashes at any time. Kind of like little random PMS bombs. I did find Flush Free Niacin at Wally World produced by Spring Valley that raised HDL from the 20s into the 40s. I was also able to quit smoking after many years of trying. I suspect there is a causal relationship between the niacin and quitting as niacin and nicotine are closely related chemically.

Some great weight loss stories there guys, well done :)

I have been reading up on antidepressants, and was shocked to learn that almost 10% of Americans (and probably the same for UK and Australia) are on selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors. These drugs seem to level the moods, but also create a sensation of non-satisfaction. Hence almost everyone I know who is on these SSRIs has gained weight, or has trouble keeping it off.

My brother was almost 110 kg. Pretty impressive for a bloke who is about 165 cm tall. He eventually got off all of the crazymeds (not without 20+ years of grief) and he seems to be more interested in exercise and staying active. He's still about 90 kg, but I think the damage has been done.

For me, I lose weight fastest when I don't eat. Seems obvious, but if you want results fast, there's your answer. The trick then is to return to a lower 'normal' amount of food, as opposed to what you started doing. It's that bloody serotonin again!

I tried dieting before and nothing worked or I felt miserable because I tried the starving diet, well almost. It made me loose weight but I put it back on fast.

The trick is eating less more often and when you are hungry between meals eat, this is the important thing, eat when you feel hungry. IF I'm hungry I'll eat an apple or banana, or a handful of hazelnuts.

You see your brain takes a while to get the signal from your stomach that you have had enough, and I tend to sometimes gulp my food down which is bad.

Restaurants often offer huge meals and I've seen lately here they offer light meals and I find that more than enough.

The foods that make me feel full longer are oatmeal, brown bread (home made of course) Hard boiled eggs, Salmon and Hazelnuts. I have loads of vegetables with salmon. I love salmon with garlic, yum yum :D

Basically you can eat as much fruit and veg as you want along with decent amounts of good fats such as organic chicken, salmon, etc, remember organic chicken has over 75% actual meat compared to cheap supermarket forced grown shit that is 75% fat and bad fat too and full or hormones, and not just chicken.

I also love spicy foods, i eat pickled jalapenos straight from the jar, good or bad, but I love them.

One incentive for me to keep up a healthy diet is treating myself to one of my favourite foods once a week or two such as and Indian, I love a chicken chillie masala and onion bajhi, that keeps me positive and that a proper diet (not dieting) isn't so bad. :D

Weight loss isn't about dieting but proper diet and the best at keeping it off permanently.
