Presuming, as you do, that this may be accurate, it gives me some relief and hope.
It says people are doing useful work towards solving problems, as opposed to the message I get from the news that the problems are not being solved. It could still be true that the problems are not being solved quickly enough, but it's a better message than I've been getting.
