Will Tariffs come about and lead to higher priced ebike parts

How soon can this be made secure for use? How much will that cost?

How soon can a person who does not care about foreign influence even after swearing an oath be made safe?
How soon can a Congress member who does not care about foreign influence even after swearing an oath be made safe?

a bit over the line for overpoliticizing it, guy :/

Now is the time to buy a lot of items, so you can make a killing and retire when the tariffs go back up.

I wouldn't bet on that, it's mathematically unfeasible to return to the original tarriff plan & govt knows it.
Given how unpredictable the governance is, you could very easily get burned.

Perhaps we should see what Nostradamus's AI predictions are for 2025, end of conflict, a weakening of the Catholic Church, a new world power emerging, bugger it will get the Ouija board and see if someone up there knows what's going to happen next.

At this point I don't think it's safe to assume the government will act rationally in any way when it comes to tariffs. (Which is why it's causing so much trouble for companies that import and export; you can plan for any new tariffs but you have to know what they are going to be.)

I'm just wondering if everyone is good with 30% price hike compared to months ago. Reminds me of the stores that jack up the price for a few weeks then lower it just above the original price. They call it a sale. So is everyone going on a buying spree with a 115% discount.

I'm not good with it but i can't change the fact. I can only work around it.
Made a bunch of buys right before everything kicked in.
Lotta big companies did the same, manufactured a year's worth of Chinese goods in 3 months, lol.

I have a couple IT clients in the finance world and they are throwing fits.
There's no safe bets, you just gotta let the storm pass.

Yeah, I bought a bunch of bike stuff before the storm. I was worried about disruption in the supply of wear parts, so I bought tires, brake pads, chains, etc.. Probably worried too much, but now I'm a bike store. I did buy the electrics for 2 future projects; a walking tractor and a heavy-duty cargo trike. Though my ability to envision projects overruns my ability to complete projects.
I kinda wish that I had bought more stuff to make bicycle motor wheels, battery components, and controllers with the doodads. Maybe the age of super cheap ebikes has ended, and a market for a capable ebike built on a quality donor bike will arise again.

State Farm doubled my auto insurance this year. Asked why they did not have an answer. On the News tonight they said that State Farm raised everyone's premiums 70% to cover their loses in California fires. This is the last straw for me. Texas has had a EV tax, $300 last year and $250 this year. Going to sell my car and just ride my Trike. Need a used EV neptronix battery around 60%. Thats 6kw.

Going to sell my car and just ride my Trike

Not just about you.

A silver lining. I have been working out my trike design/implementation with an eye on being able to ride after the system breaks down (and before, of course). I've moved now and found a place to live. Now I'll re-assemble the trike and starting riding it. The new place isn't as bike-friendly as where I moved from - I have other reasons to be here.

Think about your future and buy what you will need while you can get it.
