wiring connectors waterproof protection

On my last controller I'd used a plastic constructors box with rubber grommets to house all of the connectors that congregate a few inches from the controller. What do you guys do? I was considering a neoprene sleeve with cable ties, but any other options?
 
Yep, the last box was an aluminium electronic construction box, not plastic, but I kind of figured it would have to be something similar again. I can only find the bottom part of the thing now though. I just won some neoprene sheet off ebay for about a dollar so I'll look to see if there's something can be done with that first, with some desiccant to keep it dry.

The last one was a re-purposed 2 part extrusion with end plates, it was a salvaged part from something but just a little too deep.

This type with a removable top looks good, if I can find one that's not too deep.

I use no connector box, and ride all year long in extreme conditions. I just had a throttle connector contact failure yesterday, after 17,000 Km. First electric contact failure since I have built that bike. The trick:
