Your Creation's Before & After Pics

After... I know...I kinda went backwards on this one... But I got it as a free frame with all the parts stripped off...And it rides so great as a pedal cruiser I might just leave it like this. Hacked off the cracked rear fender that led to it's demise, swapped on some 24" x 3" wheels I had sitting around, defendered the front, added a hydraulic brake to the front, and a triple crank, also in my parts bin. That actually worked out... if I'm doing extended uphill I just reach down and manually move the chain over.

So many awesome builds in this thread!! Too many to respond to individually,
this thread is not meant to have any responses. it's to show pics and description only. if everyone would comment every build it would become unreadable.

And yet there are plenty of responses! My point was, if I could I would tell everyone individually how awesome I think their particular build is! But I know it's not realistic!

Another one done some time ago for my brother.

First post, long time lurker.

I started a build last year on a Worksman trike with a 48V 1kW eBay kit motor and four 12V/20Ah SLA's. It was increasingly unstable at any speed over 10 mph and the brakes were not up to the task. I scrapped the build and kept the parts for a rainy day.

Lessons learned, I'm going to put a rear hub motor on my Cannondale SL5. The plan is to use a Luna triangle 52V/20aH battery pack and a 1500w 29er kit from conhismotor for a cross-town commuter. Parts will be in the mail shortly.

Try something more like this,

and it works great up to at least 20MPH (can't test it faster here on the streets legally), even in turns it will do pretty well without tipping over at >15MPH depending on the load I have in back. :) (more load, less tippy).
Older pic of it, has changed in minor ways since then:

"ElectricDeathMoth": IntenseTracer275a, Tangent Ascent drive.
39.8lbs complete with everything (battery in backpack separate 10-12lbs)

Upgraded full spec...
2015 IntenseTracer275a size Large (i'm 6'2")
Tangent Ascent: Astro 3210, 52v20a samsung battery
RockShox Lyric 180 2016
CaneCreek Double Barrel Inline shock.
ENVE carbon 60/40 wheelset, DT 240s hubs
Syntax MegaForce stem 70m, Intense Bars and grips
Maxis HighrolerII tires, tubeless with Stan's sealant

WTB VOLT saddle...is there any better model for an E-Bike? :D (pretty firm race saddle, not for wimpy asses)

My trike is more of a drifter when it gets going too fast. That wasn't the real issue though. The back right rim was bent. The resulting wobble was ridiculous at 20 mph. The tire hardly touched the ground by 25.

Hello,
This is my first post here;
I recently purchased a Surly "Big Dummy" cargo bike and plan on converting it to an e-bike (a 1000w mid drive is on order).
I didn't like the look of the saddle bags that came with the bike; I opted for a couple of surplus ammunition boxes which
should be large enough to carry an additional battery pack(s).

Fits a case of Pepsi with room to spare!!
Here is a video of that project:

(crank up the volume)
Thank you,
Joe Kieliszek :D

Girlfriend's bike Version 1 reusing the parts from my trike build (48V/1000w generic kit). The bike is a Schwinn Fairhaven from Walmart. It only needs a battery.

Here is my home made battery holder. 4x-20amp LifePO4 packs from batteryspace.com. So far, very reliable. I get a 25 mile range going full throttle. Packs are wired in series to give me 54 volts. No special tools needed to build this holder. Just a dremel with a cutting wheel and tube clamps and 3/8" black plastic sheets from Ebay. I even made it so the center triangle area that holds the batteries flip open.
