youtube adsense.. worth it or not ?

your videos are priceless
you should get paid by us dummies for the chance to view them

been there done that
most likely will have to do it again

Not a cent from YT at all. Not enough from my blog to get another payment yet (threshold is $100 before they send a check), first was in Sep2010 I think, after about 3 years since starting.

I receive an average of these offer on YT every two weeks... I have some video with 50 000 view and many with over 10 000 view and it seem they all qualify for getting money... but

Sincerely.. I'm not so sure i want to bug you all guys with some *(&?*(&?**!!! publicity playing before each of my video!!

I think it's what they offer right?... you autorize them to include a publicity before each of your video right?

I began to complet the process a year ago... but i never finished... just like you Ypedal

I also started to fill out the forms, then read that they will over lay my videos with ads, and/or play ads before the vid starts, and said, F'it, keep your $100, I want my vids ad free.

Yes guys, please keep them ad free. The past 6 months or so the ad stuff online has really increased. I'm getting lots of crap showing up near the top of my google searches, and lots of shit similar to popups as I surf, and it's all pushing me toward turning my computer off for longer periods of time. Thank goodness ES is still ad free. Hats off to KnightMB and/or whoever else is really the wizard behind the curtain. 8)

Well, with Firefox and AdblockPlus and NoScript, plus YARIP, I can browse most places fairly ad-free.

But as for YT and Adsense, whatever it is they promise for it, they don't give it. I forget exactly how many tens of thousands of views the vids I have up have had since AS was started on them, but AS doesn't show any revenue at all. So just don't bother. :(

(If I didn't need the money so bad, I'd certainly not have signed up)

Yes i use YT and adsense and also host a few websites along with youtube, and i've made a couple hundred dollars so far. But from what i've heard you need 20,000 views for a video to qualify and if you dont get a mail invite from the youtube partnership it will never happen on its own? i have a video with around 25,000 hits now and it still hasnt been enable for revenue sharing yet..but i have others enabled..it seems they dont want to accept more videos?

I have google ads on my website and get a check every month or two, so it's worthwhile to me, but I don't think that the videos contribute much unless you are getting millions of hits. The video I took of recumpence's original ebike gets a huge number of hits. I have never figured out why and apparently other people do not know why either. I got an email feedback recently "WTF? How could this video have gotten 750000 hits?". I would have told him but he wouldn't have understood. No flames, no carnage. It's you dang ebikers that did it!

I think I've made $30 something dollars on adsense on my site. I've tried to make it as un-lame as possible: all the ads are typically for EV stuff, ebikes, and even Ping! I've tried to restrict as much of the crap like dating sites and other BS, but I still get ads all the time for the Chevy Volt.

So while I've only made $30, my site has relatively small traffic (2,000 unique visitors and 6,000 page views since I started 6 months ago) and the traffic is growing, albeit slowly. It might not seem like a lot, but as long as the stuff is relevant my site will be getting traffic. It's a looooong term investment of my time for sure, but hey, I enjoy writing it and telling people about my hobby.

The integrated ads on youtube are annoying as hell, and if they're not relevant no one is going to click them anyways! Just an eyesore! Could you put them on the side bar and make them relevant? It's actually a bit hard to get adsense to display the ads that you want. I know for websites it relies on contextualizing the text and matching up keywords or something. I'm not sure how it does it for youtube. Ideally, I'd want ads for ebike stuff only!

So yeah, it might be worth it. My feelings are that if you can actually help legitimate businesses get seen by people who are legitimately interested in their product than Ads aren't evil. You should look into it!

Have to have a nice looking babe naked in our vids to make real money, eh?

No way any of my lame YT vids get that many views. I get plenty of spam though, from folks promising me a way to get more. Who cares? I didn't put up the vids for money.
