New 1000w Geared hub MXUS XFC19

Some photos... The esthetic side will come after... I also have a mxus xf15 and i like this motor a lot, it's maybe why i finnaly bought his big brother. I used it for maybe 5 years with 52v battery and 25amp. This xf15 is so reliable! I bought copper gears with a new clutch to use it with my 72v battery and i will probably test on it the ATX oil cooling

Yeah it's real unfortunate that MAC motors are basically just sold by one company now: Cutler MAC.
I don't think you'll pay more than $300 for one today.

60A/72V sounds like madness. I'd love to see and hear this motor pushing that kind of power!

If you want i will try to post the sound here, now i'm on 40 amp only because i'm waiting new components but the sound of the motor at hight speed is furious. I will soon buy a locked clutch to avoid another clutch issue, i just hesitate for the steel gears because i have a doubt. If someone can tell me there is no problem with steel dust and magnets and coils... Or if there is some copper gears of that dimension somewhere... (43teeths 57mm X.12mm)

Did you get your locked clutch or did you solder the clutch. If you bought it, where did you get it ?

You will burn xf19r soon with that amount of power. Mac is weaker motor than xf19r, has issues with some controllers too. Where did you find steel gears and maybe clutch replacement?

Is there a way to get this motor GDR19 MXUS to go faster than 50-55km at 48v? Can you buy a faster winding? Sounds like a great motor apart from a little slower top speed than ideal.

Any thoughts on best budget 1500w~ motor? Seems like MXUS is a lot better / more torque than CSC (45-50nm DD), Leafbike is something like $700AUD before a decent controller, Freegen all axle will end up expensive with a decent controller.

Any other suggestions? Nominal 1500w capable of 2.5kw bursts would be good. Light rider on 26 wheels. Maybe getting a 29er would be one way to get some more speed from the MXUS. Or running 27.5.

How did it go at 72v?

I have been running the 1000w version of this motor for 2 years at 60V 40A. I got it complete with wheel from Ride1Up as a warranty replacement for a Shengyi "500W"(850W) hub on my Core5. At 48 volts I got 31 mph, and shitgobs of torque. The Core5 is a 49 lb bike and it absolutely rips off the line, and the "noise" everyone is carrying on about is music to my ears. Now at 60V, you need to be judicious with when you whack the throttle wide open, and it gears out at 39-41 mph, but gets there really quickly. I run a oil bath, but I did much due diligence with the Geocel silicone and don't overfill it. 500ml of Dexron 2, with a splash of Tri-Flow, and Marvel Mystery Oil works for cooling, and I absolutely HAMMER 🔨 that motor. I live in the Philly suburbs Pottstown/Sanatoga and it's quite hilly here. I have a GDR-19 1000W, waiting in the wings for when this XF quits, but 2 years and 7.5K miles and it's still ripping, it has gotten quieter, but still makes a distinct hub drive whine, and at top speed it sounds glorious.

I've got 2 of these motors and didn't have any luck getting a faster winding despite asking as clearly as I could. On the second order I tried telling them that I was going to put it into a smaller wheel but still wanted the same top speed, hoping for a higher kv version. The first motor has a 26" sticker on it, the second has a 22" sticker - both have the same unloaded rpm.

It’s the one hesitation I have with this motor, that it’s a bit too slow. It sounds like getting a higher voltage battery could be a solution, but that would require getting new batteries. I think it can handle 72v, does anyone know for sure?

The Fatbike version looks like a beast. 125nm. Would be great if it was offered for normal dropout width.

Also I figured the XF19 and GDR19 are the same motor, is there any difference? @Payer791

It's the same motor. This guy is running one at 72v in a 29" wheel and tops out at around 70kmh in this video but I would imagine he had the wind behind him on this run, in other vids it's closer to 60kmh

I still didn't change anything, but to answer about the voltage it can run with 72v without any issue(for me) if you keep the amperage at 40 or below and if you're not always with full power... I damaged the clutch with 60amp but maybe you will have damages with lower voltage and amps... To me i'm confident with putting more amps again but before i will lock the clutch and improve the cooling with atx oil. Maybe i will change the phases cable. I wonder if i will buy the fat version because i can buy a alluminium fat frame for 50 dollars. I think the fat motor is much stronger and can potentially handle maybe 100amps. What i don't like is that now my front wheel is hard to keep on the floor with 60amps(on the start). I would like a longer tail, i often wonder how to make it just a little bit longer, not like a dragster but like only 5 or 10cms. I have ideas but no time...

What at 100amps 72v or 7,200 watts yes it can run at that wattage . Just tell how long it lasts. Please report back.
72v and 40amps will melt it on a hill.
