    Nice online calculator here https://electricscooterparts.com/motorwheelgearratio.html for top speed and gear ratios. I get my motor gears from aliexpress, lots of choice just make sure you get the shaft diameter and chain size right when ordering.

    There is a post by fechter back in 2008 https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1312#p70490 in the battery technology forum that might explain what happened, hopefully your cells are ok but the bms modules in each pack may be toast.

    What batteries are you looking at welding? if it's A123 I believe there is a specific type of welder required and anything else could destroy your cells. I think the Miyachi DC-25 was the recommended welding control, but that sure isn't cheap! I think it needs to be a 4000 amp double-pulse...
