Works great for me, really smooths out my local poor condition roads. Converted early 2022. Going on 7,000 happy (mostly) trouble-free miles as of Spring 2025.

Can hit 44.5 MPH on the flat. I like to cruise at 21 - 23 MPH (cruise control in assist level 2).
  • E-bikeling 1500W rear hub dd kit/ 48V 35A controller.
  • Two paralleled 48V 30A 10Ah batteries (each 13S3P Panasonic-Sanyo NCR18650GA 3450mAh cells with common port BMS). Common port BMS makes for simple uncomplicated paralleling. They are always connected! Charging, riding, resting!
  • Thumb throttle, no PAS.
  • Currently running 26x2.35 Schwalbe Crazy Bobs.

Batteries securely strapped sandwiching the top tube. 5" wide total does not interfere with pedaling. Two quality SS worm drive clamps, overwrapped with black stretch tape. Rear clamp also holds the controller. Does not budge!

5" overall top tube width not a problem. Even for a low Q-factor rider.

Full fenders a necessity in my maritime precipitation heavy riding environment. Robust steel rear fender off a beach cruiser.

Front plastic (Zefal?) fender mounted to disc brake mounting screw, other side is a P-clamp clamped around the lower fork tube.

Drilled small hole in fork arch to receive fender mounting screw.

Good fender coverage, good lighting, appropriate clothing and gear are prime requirements for riding year 'round in my environment. Sticky tires help!
