#219 Chain Front Sprocket Suppliers?

Ok, just to let you guys know, I just ordered a CB750 cam chain master link, if this doesn't work, I will be trying to order one from Panther chains. Both chains I ordered did not come with master links, and these Panther chains do, so you must be able to buy one from them. Check out this video:

Here is a discussion about 219 chain that says alot of Motorcycles use this chain for the cam, I hope the CB750 does from what I could gather.

Ok,
From the measurements taken with my caliper it appears these cam chain masterlinks will work for the #219 chain, so here is another source of #219 gears and chains, chain driven cams on some motorcycles. :D
I will try to use my bicycle chain breaker to completely satisfy my findings on this.

Awesome, connecting links are available.. IIRC my 219 chain was a maintenance swap out from a police motorcycle. I'd love to be able to machine up some kart sprocket adapters, or whole rear sprockets, I got to get on that learnin how to model stuff!

So you already knew this? Hmmm, maybe I will make it out to the local motorcycle scrap yard, see what they got. Those cam sprockets might make good idler wheels.

I have some high mileage cam sprockets also. For idlers the wear doesn't matter. Might not even matter for drive sprockets. I posted it back in 2008 here: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5846&p=92880&hilit=cam+chain#p92880

A really good spot to hit might be the police or highway patrol motorpool scrapbin.. I'm not sure they even still use 219 though.

Another thing, I now have access to a Kburn77 CNC setup similar to Luke's, just got to learn how to use the thing..

I got my sprockets already. Here is a pick of the small and large. The large one is not much thicker. Please make me 2 of the 1/2" adapters. One your way and one like the 3/8 way, I will grind out the broached keyway if need be. Send me a PM or email when ready, I have funds in my paypal account waiting to go.

Thanks

Can you tell me how wide those sprockets are? Not the diameter of the hub, sprocket, bore, but the width. I cannot find the measurement anywhere. I have a very limited amount of space between my crank and bearing for my jackshaft.

It is 7/8" wide

I have been doing a lot of shopping for 219 sprockets and happened upon a source for tooth counts from 13-24 teeth. They are the first 12 sprockets listed at the following link.

http://buller.net/cat--Sprockets-Misc-Bully-Items--bully_misc.html

As far as I can tell they all have a 1-1/8" bore in them for a needle roller bearing. They are made to engage a clutch basket on a gokart clutch so they have drive tangs machined in the hubs. Most of the 219 sprocket suppliers seem to stop at 18 teeth so the fact that these go all the way to 24 teeth seems useful. I will be ordering a 22 tooth soon and will try to machine it and or make an adapter for more common shaft sizes for ebike use.

Most links on this thread are dead now. To this day I find the cheapest source for 219 chain parts to be https://azusaparts.com

https://azusaparts.com/product-category/chain/standard-roller-chain/219-chain/
https://azusaparts.com/product-category/sprockets/b-type/for-219-chain/

Kometcartsales is good too https://cometkartsales.com/-219-Sprockets/

Once you start searching the kart component suppliers, you will find many custom manufacturers,..like Azusa and Buller, and Burris, who produce and make special parts to suit chain systems.
More sources for 12-24 T 219 sprockets would be the other kart clutch manufacturers, like Noram, Rotax, Hayne, etc.
58-98T sprockets are commonly available also.
..Many suppliers would offer options of various alloys, hard coatings, Carbon fibre, steel, skip tooth (2 or 3 of every 4 teeth removed !), as well as 2 part "split" sprockets for mounting round an axle.
