Of course, not all are active. Some are lurkers; some have left or never participated.

I am member number five.

Suggestion: POLL

Where in the world do you live?

Some member here with the know-how (I'm only an idea person) could make a world map showing where our members reside.

What say?

Less than three years ago this was a new forum with only a few members.
Michael Brown, pro-bono creator; then Mathurin, who is still here and active,
and Bob McCree, Lesss, and soon enough I joined. Now we are BIG
and the ebike world listens, watches, responds to our needs.

Where do we live? I live in Miami: ebike heaven because it is flat and scenic both.

Cheers,
Reid

It's freeware if you so choose. I've used Gadwin Print Screen (Free!) for eight full years.
It is tiny, reliable, versatile and as good a deal as Avast antivirus (also freeware!).

I wish I'd screenshot the original E.S.
Then host the image at imageshack.us or photobucket, etc.

Nora Bayes was a singer of comedy / novelty songs and this is no exception.
The record is a bit scratchy, but the tune is worth a listen. Enjoy!
It's scratchy only because, A: it's played with a modern hi-fi pickup, and also, it's a Columbia:
these records are made of shellac with abrasive intermixed by which to hone the single-use needle to fit the groove.
Columbia used sand instead of clay, I think. Yet, on a period machine, properly transcribed, the sound (microphones were not yet in use)
is just fine.
The song is dandy and represents the wonder than was and is America. Jews welcome.

I was looking through the members list and I noticed how many 0-post users there were who clearly registered just to post a web-link to their website. So I sorted the entire member list by post count just to get an idea what kind of "active audience" there is. There's 50 members per page and I'll post a list of post-count thresholds and page numbers below so you can get an idea of what kind of active population endless sphere has.

Post-Count ............. Page number it changes to on(roughly # of users that have more than this many posts)
100 .............5 (250 users)
50 .............7 (350 users)
20 .............12 (600 users)
10 .............16 (800 users)
5 .............20 (1000 users)
2 .............26 (1300 users)
1 .............30 (1500 users)
0 .............38 (1900 users) - Basically, roughly 1900 users have made at least 1 post.

Total registered users: 93 pages (4630 users). So, roughly (4630-1900) = 2730 users have not made any posts. Out of these 0 post users, from a sample size of 4 pages (200 users), 39 users did not post a website link suggesting roughly 3/5-4/5 of the no-post users registered just to display their website. Compare that to almost 1/5th of the users with a post count above 100 posting website and you can infer the vast majority of 0 post users register just to advertise a web link. Interestingly, it seemed yahoo.de was a popular website among the 0 post users, many of whom who seemed to have randomly generated alphanumeric names.

So how many if we ignore the spam accounts and peeps with 0 posts?

I count 1601 ATM just excluding the 0-post accounts. :?

From the 4k members thread. On the plus side, going by swbluto's math, we're gaining more active users per day than we used to.

EVERY forum sports a HUGE preponderance of totally silent members.

When I became re-active last November after a two year lay-off, our member list stood at 3800 or so.

So there.

I don't care if only twenty different people post per day, ever and forever;
we are read by all the big wigs, and respected for our ethics and cleanliness*

*other than my jokes.

Ahhh...

Just to upset your stats Reid, herewith my second post... :p

Hello everyone! Been following along here and there. I prefer reading over writing; this may be my first : ). I recently upgraded the bike to 1 Kw, but it's still lead sled.
