yeh Im sure he is just buisy and I wonder how hard it is to get internet there for him?

Hello Guys! Wow its been really long time since i posted something here.

So busy with other things that I almost forgot I once had an electric bike. ha ha ha ha....

Actually electric power supply to our houses was so much cutting for the last few months which diverted my attention towards making and modifying some battery powered backup systems. I made a couple which worked fine and a success and I got stuck with it so deep that I couldn't get out. My relatives kept on pushing me to make one for them each. one for my elder brother one for my elder sister and ........ I made about 6 units all running with great success.

And guys At last I got a good job now with medical allowances and pension and what not and what not. Now i can relax and work on my remaining projects.

Last time I rewind the motor with 30 turns per coil which would need about 60 volts to run at its full rpm (unknown yet). I have bought some MOSFETs with the help of some friends' donations for my project .I will post some pics as i get my camera. My main issue is to decrease the weight of the bike but my design is so complex that I can't find way to go about it.

I will stay in touch.

Missed you all

God bless you.

Well if life becomes like living without electricity for 7 to 8 days then I guess good bye internet computer TV and everything including welding and stuff like soldering. you know life freezes. I never thought that electric power is so crucial untill now.

Wow I just found this thread. Very good job!

Thanks for the appreciation.

Best news so far today, Naeem is BACK :!:

Give us some news on your ebike building, travels and work.

Livrforphysics made it abundantly clear if you were expecting
Praise for donating, not to donate. However, IIRC Naeem already acknowledged the donation and gave thanks to those that sent money. I'm sure he is very grateful
And will make the money go a long way, he's in a country with great hard ships and fighting though, so i'm sure e-bikes aren't at the top of his"too do" list right now...he will get there, he's one resourceful and determined individual, please let's not
Make him feel uncomfortable, he constantly refused offers of financial help in the past, the money wad forced upon him remember...i'm glad it was, he deserves it more than most..

Good luck with your projects Naeem you rock SIR ;)

I love guys like you. I feel so so grateful to be in my position as you do in yours. The thing is you don't need money you feel so good when you build something then you go ride it or drive it or test it. This has been my whole life building riding/driving or testing of some sort and then make it better or move on! But the greatest feeling in the world to to is to stand up to a challenge and fight to overcome it! I would like to see more of your projects. Just remember man you can never fail if you never give up!

+1 And Please ALL who read this, Flag the offensive post.

Because I have realized it was a serious mistake to move the posts (into a temporary thread in the moderator forum, until I could find out what to do about a complaint) involved with a complaint, I have undone my move of the posts; they are restored back to the original locations now.

As has been pointed out to me, I should have asked Nicobie about the post, rather than moving them all to prevent possible arguments over the original post from flaring up and causing problems or rifts among members, while I waited to find out what, if anything, should be done about the complaint.

I've never been a moderator anywhere before, and I almost exclusively take care of spam, and moving things accidentally posted in the wrong forum or splitting off-topic stuff off from threads into their own. So far I've only attempted to moderate this kind of thing once--this time. And I chose wrongly.

I *should* have just left this whole situation to the more experienced moderators, becuase obviously I made a serious mistake, for which I apologize. I don't know what else to say besides that.

I will stay out of all moderation in future, other than removal of obvious spam. That should prevent me from making this kind of mistake with anyone else, as I certainly didn't intend any harm, but I obviously caused a great deal of it in trying to prevent possible problems.

I ask that my moderator status be removed completely if it is felt by the forum that I should stay out of things I don't understand (which is most social interaction). I really only do technical stuff with any competence; people are not my field.

It hurts me greatly that I have caused Nicobie and anyone else grief over this; although I do not know how to express myself well enough to show it.

No worries, Amberwolf. Sometimes it's best to let people hang themselves. (You can leave a note when you move things for review.)

Hi Naeem,

Keep up the good work!

Nothing more needs to be said, AW, not a big deal IMHO i hope i didnt offend Nicobie
either was only trying to point out Naeems situation and that thanks had been given for
the donations  My apologies to Nicobie if i have offended him with my previous post.

Keep up the great work AW i'm sure nobody thinks you should step down, thing with
moderating from my past experiences, you can't please all the people all the time no matter
what you do ..

I was offended by nobody and shouldn't have made my original remark.

I also hope it didn't offend Naeem too much.

I have told AW in person what a good job he is doing as a caring moderator. I still feel the same way. I only wish that I was given the chance to remove my post before having it removed by others. That really is my only bitch.

Anyway, I have deleted my post and I hope (and have asked) that Amber W remove his unnecessary apology.

AJ: Your comment didn't make me mad. I know what you are like when really pissed, and this wasn't one of those times.

TylerD: You're right again, as usual.

Dear All;

It has been such a great honour for me to be a family member in ES. It has given me the hope to go on with what I was doing for the last 10 to 12 years. I love you all like my brothers and sisters. I was not sure to talk about the donation money in this thread but as mentioned by Aussie, I felt like we all are a family in its real meaning. Thank you is a very small word I guess. I wish I could do more but all I can give is just these words of thanks. I really wish there was a better way of saying thanks.

I have not been using the donated money other than Electric bike project(s) as I have mentioned time and again and have kept the entire amount in my bank account. Very rightly said, it will definitely go a long way. I want to make sure that every cent goes for what it was meant for. What ever I have bought with this money is mentioned in my thread(s) time and again. I never asked for it but it was one of my friend on ES convinced me through is PM that this way I can help others by contributing in the effort towards making a better future of electric bikes in my part of the world. And yes I have done it as from where I pass in my city, people know me for my e-bike creating even if I am walking by. They recognize me by my face although they do not know my name. I would say that I have been successful in laying the foundation stone of electric bikes in my part of the world.

Yes sir, you are so right when you said “great hardships”. My family hates me for being such a freak. It is easy to go against the world but believe me it is so hard to go against your wife and parents. Some time I feel that it is a bit dishonest but then again I feel like my work will benefit at least some part of the world. I spend my entire day at office and when I come back home and get my self into a work that I love more than words can explain. My wife hats me for this and always complains that I do not have even time to talk.

The religious circle has even cursed upon me, abused me and have said that I would burn the fire of hell and what not and what not. But this is my religion the religion of humanity and science. One of my uncle took me to a psychiatrist and thought I had a psychological problem lol.

My biggest hurdle is that my country specially my city which is very much adjacent to Afghanistan is a center target for the terrorists. They know that hurting this area can block all sorts of transport and supplies which is meant for NATO forces therefore it is the main target for all Taliban forces. My friends always say that “don’t do such experiments and do not go public with your work. Taliban might kidnap you and by force use your talent for evil things”. I have been questioned by the secret agencies for receiving donations from abroad and what not and what not. But nothing can stop me from my work. It is only that keeps me from my work is that I belong to a poor family and I have to put bread and breakfast on my table therefore I have to work hard to get it and this is what leaves me no time for my work. I wish I had time for research and experiments. I have so many ideas I wish I could try them all out.

Right now I wanted to do some experiments with series connected sealed lead acid batteries. I found that with having little time to work on my projects, it would be better to do it in my lab and put the same amount of load on batteries rather running it on electric bike. I have made an Un-interrupted power supply unit connected to my home lighting, fan and almost all electrical appliances except for huge stuff like refrigerator, electric pump and iron etc. I have found that there are issues of battery balancing. I am running some tests and collecting data. Yesterday I have connected all four one of them one by one with a stand alone charger and charged them till they were full. Now that I have come back home I have started the test. Let us see if the same happens while all batteries connected in series drain equally or still balancing issues remain the same. It also depends on the health of each battery. And yes one of the pack has weak health, therefore, it get down a lot quicker than all the others. Replacing this pack will resolve the problem. But! That increases the repair cost and time in an electric bike. It seems that using the battery one has to live with this fact.
What do you think guys?

Respectfully Yours
Naeem

This is also one of my creation and my ride to office other than my electric bike. Maximum speed 130 km/hr about 40 km/litter and great acceleration.

Naeem,
How did you check your mixture with the new carburetor? Do you look at the spark plug colour to make sure you are not running too lean? Was the bore size on the 125cc carb, close to the bore on the original one? Did you change jet sizes?

Unfortunately any type of battery in series will have this problem, but since no single cell of any chemistry has enough voltage for our purposes, it is necessary. (even in a single lead-acid battery, there are typically six cells in series already!)

It is possible to use fewer cells in series, and instead parallel them, so you have low voltage but much higher current capability, but then all the wires to everything have to be thicker to handle the current, or else more power is lost in voltage drop across them, and motors must be rewound for lower voltage use (to keep them spinning the same higher speeds), or else the motors would need to be larger to handle the startup power levels with usually higher waste power/heat.

It is usually easier to run higher voltage and lower current, higher RPM and gear things down. (like someone's signature here says: volt up, gear down ;)) Even though the batteries then can be problematic, because you can only have the capacity of the worst cell in series, and must instead pick cells / batteries that are more or less matched to be able to fully use a pack's power.

Naeem I thought of this great inventor of the past after reading your long post above! He was the inventor of the first steam car! His family did not understand him or his dreams either! Here is a little bit about him... not to worry you are in good company, and a man ahead of his times. Take care, best wishes in your work.

Neat video of the worlds oldest running car, The car De Dion Bouton Et Trepardoux is from 1884 , and it's a steamer! Invented 2 years before Daimler/Benz's. The interesting side story is that the inventor's family tried to get an injunction against him to stop his experimenting. They said he was wasting his time on the visions of a boy wasting resources on toys... If there's a surprise, it's the functional nature of the prototype - it seats four two by two, takes more than half an hour to prepare before it can drive, and requires watering every 20 miles.

...wasting his time on the visions of a boy, they sure got that one wrong!

Dear All;
I hope every one is doing great. Due to my official engagements I am finding very little time to work on my inventions and the same with putting my responses and feedback in the forum for which I am sorry for the delay.

I will try to respond to every one as best I can.

About series connected batteries in UPS I have discovered that when the unbalanced batteries are very slowly charged they all tend to balance while charging at higher amps will lead them to remain unbalanced.

Yes AW it is true in case of higher DC voltage as I have always experienced the same that higher the DC voltage, better the efficiency. My 48 volt UPS also proves the same theory.

Due to frequent power cuts and living our lives without having electricity for weeks I am compelled to make an Arial flux alternator with hard drive magnets I have done some experiments and I have been successful but I need to use some of the funds sent by My generous family members in ES and I want to ask for their approval to spend some on this project of mine. I have already tried to make an alternator within the wheel of the bicycle but due to bumpy rides I gave up the idea of making one but this one will be run by a very small engine (70cc or less) and will charge my two 12 volt batteries connected in series so I would be making one which could give out power to charge 24 volt battery bank.

It is a bitter fact that having no electricity I can’t use my electric bike as my ride and compelled to use gas (petrol) powered dirt bike shown in earlier video. With the help of this alternator I will be able to at least keep my E-bike batteries charged which are lying uncharged for weeks now. It is so disappointing that without electricity our cell phones, laptops, printers, and computers nothing work and even my office can’t function. Govt. says that soon it will get better but by the time it is getting worst. I wish we could get rid of these corrupt leaders. It is only possible through education and it will take its time.

Gordo; My dear friend Yes of course I checked the spark plug which tells almost everything related with the carburetor. Yes sir, the bore sizes of both carbs are the same. But I have to buy a new one as the old one was having issues regarding mixture. I kept the jet size the same and it worked because I have recently replaced the piston rings and also have replaced the head valves (inlet and out let both) therefore, the engine works on little fuel. I have confirmed from one of my mechanic friend about the piston bore size he says no doubt it is 150 cc and not more.

bigmoose; nice invention, it is always the case that society treat such people harshly specially their loved ones. We have to live with it by trying our levels best to justify with family as well. My father always say that All things that a human eye can see and can’t see is meant to be servant to human, therefore nothing is more important than human being himself. And thus, family is more important than anything in the world. May God help us all.

Wish you all the best of luck with your built.
Respectfully yours.

This is how this alternator experiments goes with HDD magnets. It is the same idea that I was intending to use inside a bicycle wheel.

thanks for the approval ypadle I am highly appreciative of it. To ask for such approval honours me indeed.

Sincerely Yours
Naeem

I have shifted my alternator project to another topic in "Alternative Energy". Please follow me there for the remaining work:

Thanks for giving me the pleasure of being with all of you.
