Alien Drive Systems- Stunt scooter from scratch

i've been wanting to do a stunt scooter for quite a while now but have not been able to find a donor deck that will fit all the batteries and ESC in etc..so I've designed it from scratch with all bolt together pieces..no welding..and pneumatic tyres for a bit of suspension...
design stage- so i considered an adaption of an existing scooter- but it looked ugly and had no storage space..

then i designed form scratch..with standard 110mm wheels

in silver-

exploded-

with pneumatic tyres.

Most parts finished just the wheels and forks to do..and some anodising.. then even if it doesn't work -ill have the toughest stunt scooter in town!!!

You say "stunt" scooter, so how are the batteries/motor/esc going to hold up against pounding? My biggest concern would be the batteries getting damaged I guess.

well i call it a stunt scooter but it will probably be in name only!! ha ..i will be lining the base with foam etc..and it will have pneumatic tyres..and if need be i'm looking at incorporating a MTB suspension in the front fork assembly.. i need to test ride it first on the tyres..

LOL- i would like to be able to hold onto it!! ha ha
Its going to have a 63mm 3KW motor and 10s battery.. should be good for 25mph...

i think u should run standard 8" tires like the stunt dirt scooters.

I looked at them but a too large gear reduction is required to still be able to use a belt drive .. So smaller wheels had to be found ..

i just work on projects instead of sitting watching TV...these are my winter projects but they just happened to have come together at the same time..

many people here in Switzerland use one of those (no motor) for their commute... I for instance
live about 1km and 50 height meters from the train station. I cycle but many people go to the
train station with a little scooter like that, and it would be perfect if it would make it up the
hill without any effort...
What would be necessary though is that the steering can be folded down to lie flat with the deck,
for easy carrying around. But it would not need to be able to do stunts... And it would need
a brake over the rear wheel, or proper regen...

but I guess you studied mechanical stuff at school... çause I got the equivalent electronics workshop at home (4Ghz scope etc etc)

But, the scooter got me thinking. It would be possible just to buy a fat U-piece at the local metal
shop, and chop the folding front-end of an existing scooter and just bolt the stuff together...
Then just get a wheel from the local homedepot and use a friction drive...

The scooter is coming together- wheels done,body finished..just some bars to buy and i can actually ride it ( pushing only)
Just waiting for my electronics to arrive from Bruno ( who else!!)

its a fully rideable stunt scooter with tyres now!! it super smooth just like the boards and rock solid ..Batteries and motors have arrived and i'm just waiting on the ESC - then its back to the build!!
(that's juts a temporary foot plate)

motor and batteries are fitted- just waiting for the ESC,hand controller and drive belt to arrive! then were off!!
What i'd really like to do is use a wired throttle but i want to be able to use the b rake function,and none of the throttle allow this..so i'm thinking of using an Rc module with an adapted trigger so it would be wireless -so no wires to tangle in the bars and it will have a brake - any one got any other ideas I could try????

This is my thoughts on the hand control.it will be in a nice housing that attaches around the bar..so can be fitted to any bars..

Also, how did you bend the bar stock around your rear wheel?

No I'm lucky enough to work as an engineering technician and I get to prototype my parts then get them made in batches by a local Precision engineering company
That is standard c section Alloy stock .. I've tried using standard material to keep costs down .
I cannot wait to actually ride it under power .
