Could you find or get an address for Trendtimes? I couldn't locate one on their website...

Thanks Auraslip, it's the only throttle I use and I absolutely would not want to ride with a conventional throttle. I've put a combined 5,000 miles on the two units I have with one now as a spare. I guess they are hard to come by now so I'm glad I have another just in case.

It's the right model so it should work after modifying it the way I describe on page 1. I do wish someone would introduce a trigger throttle for E-bike use, I think many people would like them.

sounds like fun! i want to make a custom throttle. anyone know where to get a hall sensor and magnet to play around with??

I looked on mouser and they have almost 900 different hall sensors. I'm surprised anyone can order stuff from there. I personally need help ordering anything more complicated than a light bulb

Magnets are easy. You almost certainly have some laying around already. Got any old hall throttles or hall ebrake levers? At least one in each of those. Got any old namebadges with magnetic clips? Usually three on each of those. Got any old cheap disc brake calipers? Probably at least two on those, holding the brake shoes in. Got an old cycle computer? Magnet on the wheel sensor. Computer case fans? A whole strip of magnetic material inside the round core of the fan itself. Old earbud headphones? Ring magnet in those, probably. Same for old small devices with tiny speakers, like celphones, or even regular phones sometimes.


Hall sensors...many of the computer case fans have hall sensors in those, of hte type useful for ebrake switches. Old throttles will have the hall type you need for yoru custom throttle. Something else might, too, but I can't remember right now.
