My first ebike build: custom-built KMX-based electric velomobile, "Mayhem"

The body shell is off the trike. I love playing with field weakening:

That is no load, of course. In reality, it only reaches about 70 mph, using all 10 kW to do it. Range at that speed is like 8 miles(doing 2 miles at this speed took 25% of my charge, and the motor got hot). With my previous shell, range at that speed might quadruple, and with a more slippery shell, double yet again. With a good shell, triple digit top speed is theoretically possible. Full suspension kicks ass.

Range is really terrible without the aerodynamic benefit of a body shell. Velomobiles don't need much battery to go long distances when designed to be efficient, but a normal bike or trike doesn't do so well.
