Diito Jonescg was great catching up with everyone, great group of people all very laid back ;)

Nice lil video there Dingo  Matt sent me through what he captured also, he captured from lil after what you have posted
up till the acident, remarkably i got from lil before yours and up till the crash also! had no idea i managed to get the camera on couldnt see the freakin LED with sun ... Unfortunately though its over 600mb and i can't find anywhere to upload it. Shall see
if i can get it down under 500mb so i can post it on Vimeo.

Has anyone heard from Laurie yet?

KiM

Sorry to read about your friend, Kim. Hope he is not badly injured.

Looks like all you guys had a nice time. That mini-delta trike is pretty small, EH ?? Thanks to all for the videos and photos.

I actually just met Lawrie that Sunday Harold as did the rest of the fellas on the ride, i also hope he will be fine. Unfortunately i have no contact details to check in with Lawrie hopefully he will checkin soon and let us know how he is getting on.

The delta trike was ridden by Jono he like me is a paraplegic, thats his first e-bike hurriedly assembled to make the ride.
He has many improvements planned, I have also given him my old trike to rebuild so he has several things on the go.

KiM

oh wow man.. .. i hope he's ok... :|

That item aside, looks like a really nice day ! ( I hate mosquito's.. ) .. i'm stuck in winter here.. sucks.... i officially took a taxi to work this morning, snow on the ground is staying...

I usually import the video from my camera into windows movie maker, and save it to my PC to chop down the size considerably, makes a 600 mb vid into a 150mb file..

HAHA yes...the edited verion IZ over the 600mb mark...I have edited 3 videos from different sources along with a dozen or so stills. It was well over a gig before i started... The 600mb is the end result. Will split it in two int he morning.

KiM

p.s TMPGenc Express was used to chop the video and crop the time stamps out i compiled it in Windows Movie Maker...

KiM

Doesn't sounds good kim... If you do end up checking in to the hospital, see how Laurie is going ;)

HAHA yeah ill get pumped full of morphine then go wheel about in RPH lookin for him, prolly find him in a body cast laying on his bed, poor guy i feel so bad for him. I hope he isn't seriously hurt but his absence from the forum for this long isn't a good indication.

I an trying to keep my mind active at the moment so i am not concentrating on the legs, i think when i lay down too try and sleep it will be a problem, i really dont want to gotto hospital im not a fan of them and also Timma225 is dropping by tomorrow with my new alumnium extra wide bottom bracket he made for the new bike, it looks the business i'm so rapt and appreciative of Paul doing this for me, as usual his work is first class once shes anodized blue she will be a niiiice bit of bling hehehe.... So yeah, i don't want to miss Paul i been lookin at the pics he took all night one more sleep LoL...

KiM

ahhh man...i lost a good camera left it in a taxi along with all my cd/dvd collection never saw any of them again.

I have always been interested in photography i did 2 years of it at school, developing film was really interesting,
if i could just stop building these e-bikes i would have money for other things, a nice mid range digital slr with a few lenses
would be high on the list along with a decent video camera....one day :: sigh::

I had all my wedding photos on one of the dvds that got left in the cab along with assortment of other pics of the ex-missus that i can't replace, not as bad as what you lost however, sorry to here that buddy.

Foot is definitely on the improve 100% on what it was yesterday, i even manged 30 minutes in the workshop to hone out the bottom bracket
plate on the frame so i could fit the sweet alumnium bottom bracket Timma225 knocked up for me, that was enough though
the foot needs to be elevated after a while or it starts to ache...all good, it will be ok, big bruise on it that i didnt see yesterday and i managed to get the sock off which i couldn't do yesterday it was just too painful to pull it over my ankle, would be a crutches for a week at least job if i had to walk on it im sure ... Might be off for a ride this arvo anywayz hahaha Timma is coming back by if he holds the bike for me ill jump on hims and off we will gooooo... LoL

I just got word from Lawrie, unfortunately its not the best news but he said he is doing well..he has crushed vertebrae in lower back, as a result the next 5 weeks will be spent on his back 24/7 in hospital :-( He is expected to make a full but lengthy recovery. Lawrie said he will try to check in on ES later its difficult with the laptop resting on his chest.

Lawrie didn't leave any details as to hospital he is in room number etc, i have suggested when he is up to it and wants visitors to let me know,
if i get details i can pass them along in PM to those wishing to visit Lawrie in hospital, i know i was climbing the walls laying on my back in hospital
happy to see the nurse come in filling my water jug just to relieve the boredom, so i'm guessing Lawrie will be very happy to see some friendly faces.

I'm sure i am not alone in wish Lawrie the best in his recovery. Not sure if he will be able to stay online or type alot in current situation, so he may not checkin to this thread, if not i shall pass along any updates on his condition as i receive them.

KiM

Holy sh1t that sucks! :(

Crushed vertebrae :( Which one? I hope we didn't make matters worse by moving him around...

Try to get his details Kim, we should send some flowers, strippers, magazines or something...

Speedy recovery mate!

Yeah not the best, Hopefully he will leave me some details
and we can organize a lil something for him to help pass the time...
He did say thankyou to those that helped on the day also.

Sounds nasty, Kim, but good to hear that he's on the mend and pass on my best wishes to him if you get the chance. My guess is that have a couple of paraplegics on hand to advise/help after the accident must have been a help - maybe the outcome for Lawrie might have been worse if you guys weren't there when it happened.

I know that feeling after a few weeks stuck in a hospital bed, hopefully as soon he can get to at least read a laptop he can log on here for some light relief.

I will do Jeremy, Matt.P and the other fellas had everything under control without any help from the two paras present, we were all very insistent on an ambulance, thankfully Lawrie made it to hospital without any more injury than sustained in the accident, it could of been alot worse. Back injuries of this kind should be taken extremely seriously IMO, you could be one bad move away from a life in a wheelchair, price of ambulance cover is money well spent fellas.

That last comment makes me thankful we have a National Health Service that's free for everyone at times of need. The thought of having to have some sort of insurance cover just to get medical treatment seems pretty tough for those who may be on a low income and can't afford it.

We have "free" health care, its the trip to the hospital via Ambulance that is hella expensive if you aren't a member of St John Ambulance.

That is a great idea and thankyou for your support Adrian, what i think we best do is wait until i can get some details
from Lawrie, perhaps if he has a paypal account members wishing to show support could make a small donation directly to his account, donations are free from all paypal fees etc.., not being working for this period of time and during post hospital recovery can't be good money wise, his beautifully prepared trike is also now un-rideable and in need of coin to bring it back to its former glory, being a recumbent it could be useful in Lawries recovery to help get his strength back, when he gets out of hospital and can start moving about again.

I will edit my reply to Lawries pm and see if he would be cool with the above mentioned setup anywayz, i shall
keep the forum informed if Lawrie doesn't show in the the thread, i imagine it is pretty hard to see and type for any
length of time while laying on your back.

Thanks again Adrian.
