Beat up neppy for posting a dangerous 60mph ride video

I vote for at least a full 2x speed increase for your next video. :)

Moar power!

I'm over here thinking... would it be an abuse of my power to moderate my own thread here? this is ridiculous. I don't think i'm an impartial judge here, so i won't..
I think, you can eliminate all those scratched disc, repeating posts, not related to the thread. Just leave 1 BS post per user to leave remains of their existence and have this motor tread clean. :D
P.S. This post is also unrelevant BS and should be deleted.

Delete the whole thread. It's just 3 pages of nothing. The video has been removed and the comments are just repeats. The thread add nothing to the forum, it's just 3 pages of undermined piffle. It 'needs' deleting.

The video is gone? But I think I would side with most of the other comments, if a cop saw you doing that he would probably take you in. 60mph on a bike is beyond illegal.

60mph down the wrong way in a bike lane/shoulder with traffic 4 feet away and driveways entering the roadway is multiples beyond illegal and dangerous. We should just accept that Nep made a poor choice and it deserved to be scolded for. If i do something ridiculously stupid, I'd hope my friends would say "hey, you know that was idiotic" and give me a reality check. I don't understand why we need to support his actions in this one video. I'm his friend too, but it doesn't mean I will defend anything a friend does, just because he is a friend.

Like I said before, Nep is a good, smart guy. The video should not be viewable IMO, because it simply does little but add to the fire for anyone claiming ebikes above 20 are dangerous and outlaws.

Don't try downplaying this as "just 60mph". I would not have said anything negative if he was going the right direction and in the car lane.

There was another video a couple years ago of a member doing 50mph or so on the shoulder in the wrong direction on a busy 2 lane rural road. A car was waiting to pull out, and it looked like the ebike was going to get creamed. This member got scolded for it to. Nep is not the first.

I second this vote. With shorts and a wife beater and sandles and put some fire in there too.
With the amount of crap this worlds has wrong this is on the bottom of my list of shit to worry about!

It's funny to say something is okay by presenting an even dumber action. That sort of logic will get you........ where?

I agree with both 'sides'. Both are really right. That is why I think my explaination was unique.

We have the right to do what we wish. Legal or non, 'right' or 'wrong'. No harm no foul is my attitude- a warning is fine out of benevolence and care. (and was probably called for, cuz it was pretty badass)
But just to remind of the consequences of risk, not to get into an argument over who is right or wrong.

If there's gonna be a dangerous video, I think this community needs to see it to remain appraised and all. Dangerous enough going the RIGHT direction in traffic, thank you.

Dang, if the whole universe is about to end, what's the difference of going 60mph on bike?

Many times I do thing because they are stupid to prove to myself I truly "don't care"

Like going 60mph standing up on a skateboard wearing shorts. Our success as a species depends on our stupidity. If the ninnies gain control we are all going to die. Live without fear.

There's man aiming for a Darwin Award if I ever saw one.

(Live to ride and ride to live) If you can ride fast and safe and have motorcycle experience, I see no problem with high speeds. I personally ride fast everyday and think is is safer than cars passing you on two lane roads. The only thing people ask me is can I build them one. Sorry I missed the video, It sounds very controversial.

Great Zen master Seung Sahn says... 'Thank you for your video, student; that was most excellent'

Less dangerous version of this video is posted to my youtube channel now. I also climb a 3% grade at 50mph... ^_^

I would suggest breaking this thread into two separate threads, on on the Leaf motor technical story, and another on the safety issues. It is really two separate topics. Consider whether the safety discussion should be publicly visible or available only to forum members. Keep the first posting in both threads, perhaps.

We all have to deal with differing rules or laws affecting our bikes. Situations vary a great deal. None of these ebikes get close to the electric motorcycle class which starts at 250 pounds and goes past 400 pounds and more really quickly, where top speeds are over 80 or 100 mph. The larger ebikes are perhaps creeping into moped territory in weight and speed, which for many years and in some places still are not licensed or insured, or the licenses and insurance are very minimal.

Insurance doesn't avoid accidents, it just helps pay for things afterward.

This is a proper dangerous riding video:

This video is also inspirational, this guy's high speed superbike drifting skills are incredible, and he crashes like champ in shorts and a teeshirt and doesn't let it bother him.

He's one step ahead of you. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=66489&start=75#p1025754

In looking that up I noticed Neppy missed at least one. Top of the 4th page the one guy posted just to call another guy a "Snake." That oughtta be in this thread. If anywhere.

Wow, I think the second vid almost gave me a brain aneurism.

Talk about outlaws.

I don't like to see an entire group take over the highway like those bikers do.
That is true lawlessness and that type of thinking applied on a large scale of trying to change things we don't like, leads to civil wars and untold loss of life.
For me, I will give my life for the cause, but will never take one.

Ps Hey Luke, I like the first one. Badass. Wouldn't wanna be him after a small mistake though.

I like how he doesn't hesitate for an instant before launching the bike straight into the bushes to collect at a later date. 8)

Why is it that those videos from Russia are always the most insane things i've ever seen? always Russia!

Russian is synonymous with insane. There's also the Ghost Rider series, from Sweden.

LOL... i love that part where he's escaping a cop while also doing a continuous power wheelie.

Funny, there's tons of video of motorcycles pulling that shit, yet i've never heard of anyone calling for them to be banned. Eh?

Allright, allright.....
Here's my 60mph video. The CA reports 58mph top speed, but i have it set to think that it's using 2.0 tires still, so the top speed is quicker. I'm speed limited by amps primarily here.... and frankly, balls..

I really need a longer swingarm. Wheelies are a thing. The front end is also WAY too light to handle at such speeds.

Thats because the cyclists don't do anything SPECTACULAR! SOMEBODY has got to crack 100mph straddling lanes between two 18 wheelers. Watch a few videos, figure out what to top, then get to work.
