Yeah! Tilts are neet. In fact I wanted to buy the original air suspension t.rex when Don was pushing them, but Edgar has articles that I refer to every time I turn my beavers loose to chew on my suspension. This guy is Yoda of the suspension trike!

Sweet, especially the tilter. But I have my doubts about being shorter than the hood of a geo metro. If only my town was still 20,000 people, there would be space between the cars for them to see you. Not anymore.

Put a couple nice bright EV flags on a pole that sticks up at the level you want, and you'll be visible I'm sure!

It's the cars that are too big really, not the trike that is too small...

This is why we need ambient-light holography: ebike efficiency with hummer appearance.

One sweet machine.

He said the air suspension is "rolled", not piston or just a bag. It must have a piston or pipe inside to align the travel. looks like the bag is rolled over on top though, interesting.

Bob Schneeveis was telling me at the Maker Faire about an air suspension leaning trike he once had but I didn't quite follow him and there were so many people asking me questions I couldn't concentrate. And when I finally got a break he had left in his Schwarzennegger chariot. If I remember correctly, he was using part of the frame to store air. That seemed neat.

Anyone here actually built one of these tilting trikes wanna chime in on their experience?

Here are some close-up shots, and it is not a tilting trike. He installed anti-sway bars also. I'd love to test ride this trike.

The T.Rex was shown riding diagonally up stairs! So I guess OK. Edgar has several series in the Autospeed archives that are simply fascinating and quite long, but great photos and analysis for us "make believe" engineers. By the way, for Aussie he did make at least one with the steering wheel in the wrong place! A good weeks worth of reading and you will be the smartest bike engineer on the block! I have my beavers working on their ABCs so they can do better work!

He used off the shelf firestone mini-airbags. Really worth the read!

Hi Doc,

Maybe this is the air shock trike you were thinking about. It looks like a central cylinder for most of the air http://www.cargocycling.org/2007/03/apax-leaning-tr.html

I've been toying with the idea of a leaning delta for this coast-to-coast thing I'm gearing up to do. This is the leaning mechanism that I'd like to copy, since it seems simple enough http://www.maxmatic.com/Graphics/TTW/bram_smit_hpttw/TTW-Images/0.jpg

Yeah! That APAX was the original. It looks like the picture was removed. The T.Rex had 2 airshocks and a central tank for air storage! I'd still buy one but with my 401K down "a bit" now might mot be the best time!
