Chrysler 2002 Gem Electric Car really street legal?

Can citizens of the US really drive one of these along the streets and highways legally?
The blurb mentions that it is street legal.

they may be covered by low speed EV laws, NEV restrictions are 35mph and not driven on state highways.

i would recommend you buy a ZENN car instead. for some reason they do not cost much on either ebay or CL. there was one sold in southern nevada last week for less the $1k. staggering.

there was one in ohio last year that sold for $1500 and i paid $1900 total for mine.

the ZENN car is capable of highway speeds up to 55mph but the guvment makes the controllers restrict top speed to 35mph.

i got mine up to 42mph on a super steep hill before it turned at the bottom. it was doing regen the entire way down to slow me.
