Controller question

I'm so tired of reading so many things on this subject, but not able to getxan understanding. Therefore I am begging and pleading for an honest and direct answer before wasting the few dollars I have for a tenth time. I have a 36v 350w hoverboard motor that I have mounted on a razor e200 frame with a 350W 36v Chinese controller but it is entirely too slow and too weak to pull me unless on a level smooth path. I gave a 36v battery pack from a bird scooter. I'm sorry but can't remember the numbers on that but I remember the cells are of high quality. I'm under the assumption that a new controller that has a higher amp rating like 1000w would give me the torque needed to enable my scooter to pull me. If I remember correctly the 350w controller on it is around 17amps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
you wont ever go fast with a hoverboard motor. get yourself a purpose built scooter motor from amazon and that will work much better. hoverboard motors are wired for torque, not speed. That being said, you could supply 72v to that hoverboard motor and still be underwhelmed. Hope this helps.
 
are you aware of any numbers related to that video? because i didnt see any. by "fast", i meant to my standards. which would be 50-60+mph. someone elses "fast" may be 30 mph and in that case it might be possible

130mph on two wheels feels fast for a lot of folks, but once you get past 160, the road can’t be wide enough or smooth enough, and 3 lanes feel like 1 at the speed, and when you slow down to 60, it feels like you could get off and push it faster. On 4 wheels 160 may not feel so fast. Of course it’s silly to say 60 is fast when you’re being passed by a Prius lol, because it’s all relative. I agree that increasing the risk and danger provides a greater thrill of speed, no matter what speed you're actually going though.

I'm riding motorcycle myself, 130mph are OK, with the right motorcycle and a flat, straight highway. And it's legal even in Germany ;). But 60mph with a solid rubber tyre on a hoverboard motor on a 🛴 is suicide, the smallest twig on the carriageway will cause you to take off....

Legal is always safer so you’re not distracted by worrying about the cops 👍. I agree that the faster you go, the more small imperfections become huge. I took flight over a slight dip in the freeway once that wasn't even noticeable at legal speeds.
 
I'm surrounded by speed maniacs. Lol. I'm retired from a career as a crew chief in the NASCAR circuit and in my day wasn't nothing fast enough, but now just an old man looking to build a little scooter tgat will take me around 30 mph or so out of these 350w 36v hoverboard motor/s.,but I really am struggling an understanding of how battery voltage, controller amps....etc translates to the torque required to pull a 175lb man and the horsepower, or speed once going. Was always a good student in school and excelled in science and math, but as embarrassing as it is, I have tried multiple times to read and reread several post on this sight which is wonderful btw and still come uo short of an understanding of the basic electrical knowledge that is so simple to you guys and it is very frustrating to let something go when I have been blessed with the ability to do whatever is necessary to learn about things, especially subjects that truly are interesting to me. I apologize ahead of time for being so aggravating to everyone. I say all of this to let everyone on here who go to great lengths to pass on your experience and wisdom to people like me have my complete respect and I appreciate it.

i have already tried the hoverboard motor idea and it worked, but did not go nearly as quick as a standard scooter motor. probably half the speed. because of the delta/wye configuration. thats all i was sayin, peeps (y)

So if I were to put together a package that I could dress my current scooter frame with to attempt to go around 35 mph using the 36v bird scooter pack i already have, what motor and controller would you recommend. I haven't a clue about different configurations like you mentioned and could easily fall into another Chinese app trap buying another motor none the better than what I have had before. If you don't mind. I realize how precious time is for us all. I want to learn but sometimes it's nice to just be given the solution directly saving a person, such as myself a big migraine. Lol

The simple answer is that you can’t. Your battery can’t supply the current, even if the motor windings could achieve 35mph on 36v in the first place. You need to replace the battery pack and go to a higher voltage.

I'm sorry but I am confused. Is there not any motor, and controller I could purchase to go with the battery pack i have to achieve the goal. I see several advisements for 36v 350w scooters that are rated for around teenty to twenty-five mph
 
You might consider a "shunt mod" on your existing Controller. Often times this wakes things up. At least tourqe wise.
Cheap and easy as well
