Currie Electro Drive button pad

Need a new button pad for the Currie Electro Drive on my 2014(?) iZip Vibe e3. The
buttons on the original have turned to mush. Can you help me source this?

What timing, I just started looking at my 2016(?) Yuba Spicy Curry that also has the Currie Electro Drive system, hoping to get it working again, and I noticed the controller buttons have disintegrated as well. I have a feeling it's the same controller.



It has part # DP12D. Found a bike store online with a listing for a replacement, but it's $99 and backordered.


AliExpress has a 4-button controller for a Kaabo scooter that might just work, so I'm thinking about that.

Hey Joe - you're amazing!!! I never found a part number, but I did find a website from iZip for ordering parts and they too told me it was on backorder. I asked if it was like an indefinite backorder and they said they expected it to be in stock in a month.

Until then i'm going to try cutting a couple little pieces of pencil eraser and taping them on the controller so that there's something that protrudes and I can use until the part comes in.

My son has the same issue with his iZip Currie controller. I was thinking about taking 4 ball bearings and putting them on each controller button to have them protrude. I like your eraser idea too. Can you please post the website you found for ordering parts? Thanks !

I never got a price from Alta.
In fact, decided to ditch the bike & buy a new one - wasn't just the pad - I also needed a new battery soon as mine is 8 years old and the range was decreasing ($600) and a never-done tune up ($100), and that $800 happened to be the amount we paid for a new inexpensive e-bike. So I'm going to put the iZip up for sale for $250 or so if anyone in the Gettysburg PA area can use it!

I fixed this and made a replacement kit or I can do the repair in my shop and send the completed parts back to you.

The DIY repair kit is $55 and the cost for me to do the repair is $145.

The DIY repair can be a little tricky. You can watch the instruction video here and see if it is something that seems doable.

Hi I have a spicy yuba 2016 e bike and the control buttons are also all disintegrated and possibly water has got in to the unit and damaged it as a stick no longer turns it on.

Is there anyone who knows a compatible control unit that could work for this?

@mike100: I just bought an old Spicy Curry v1. The previous owner had replaced the disintegrated buttons with a silicon pad that pressed tiny bars into the controller. But the pad fell off and the little bars scattered on the floor. My new iZip Currie controller should arrive next week and I will try to install it.
