Anyone know of a way to crank out some more power out of the cyc mid drive motor called x1 gen 4 with the x12 controller. My bike needs more balls. Cheers

IIRC, the stock motor is already somewhat thermally limited by the capacity of the motor itself. If you actually need more power, you probably will want to switch to just a beefier motor entirely.

To alleviate some of the thermal issues you can potentially add a fan to provide forced air cooling over the motor and controller, but this will require a step down converter, and a high rpm, high power server type fan to have a significant effect.

Is this a conversion you've done yourself? Or is this a bike like the Bonnel 775mx? I think about the power output of the X1 gen 4, you are honestly just looking for an edirtbike or emoto, and you need to get pretty custom if you want to stick to a bike frame at all, let alone safely.
 
Ya for a Bonnell, I heard the motor used to be 9kv not it's maxed out at 6kv. Just curious on how to unlock that and the speed control

KV (rpm/volt, a motor constant)? or do you mean kW (unit of power).

9kW is a pipe dream for the x1, and not just because it's using a standard bike chain, isn't it?

Either way, with a custom battery it's possible to push 150A continuous within the same footprint as the a65 pack (which can really only do 80A continuous from those cells), but the motor or controller will simply fail. Alternative options for higher power include the big block motors from Lightning Rod Motors, with the Big Block XXL being capable of a max 18kw of power, which is the highest power I'm aware of that is compatible with pedals. I believe it needs a 100mm bottom bracket though, and won't fit on a 73mm bottom bracket.

18kw peak is technically viable from a well designed 20s4p pack, or preferably 20s5p, depending on how stressed you want the individual cells to be. I have a design for a 20s 3p battery pack meant to fit on nearly any full suspension frame, capable of 10kw "continuous" though it will overheat eventually.
 
I do wonder if Bonnell used a stock X1, like if I was them I would ask for the phase current to be lowered on the controller because the stock settings are already pretty optimistic and that sounds like a warranty nightmare. (based on their website I guess they didn't, say 6kW) So if you are getting 6kW now then yeah that's really the limit of that motor and even that is for a short time. Your best bet would probably be to adjust the gearing to match how you actually ride, without actually looking up all the gearing options and battery voltage I'm going to guess just by looking at it it's geared way higher than than it needs to be unless you are riding it on roads or fast dirt bike trails.
