Destroyed! A warning to those using freewheel cranks....

Need to get a specimen of these for the museum, boostjuice. They're about the same price as the ACS Crossfire.

We had ACS make up a batch of custom flanged freewheels (based on Crossfire) with 5 threaded 5mm holes and 5 unthreaded holes for 5mm screws, so that you can attach unthreaded or threaded chainrings to them. That makes them pretty versatile. If anybody is interested, we can put them up in the for sale area. Here are a couple of photos:

Idle pedals are the devil's treadmill. Hard connect your pedals to your motor drive and all this nonsense becomes irrelevant. Or else continue to reap the wages of moral cowardice!

Do these have the same dimensions as the white industries freewheel; hole locations etc?

Hi CNCAddict. Are you asking about the custom ACS freewheels?

Hole location is the same, and the units are interchangeable. The White Industries freewheels are slightly thicker if I recall: wider and maybe even taller shoulders by .5mm or so. The ACS might have a partial mm taller flange; the ACS flange is just barely taller and barely thinner than Dicta. Is that any help?

Yeah, that's the one and thanks for the info. I'd be interested in picking one up depending on the price :)

My std Crossfire is holding up great after ~500km so i dont see a need to find a better alternative. Smaller engagement increments doesnt help any either. That being said, I suspect they're going to be made to even tighter tolerances and feature a stronger engagement system being that their ratchet design takes a lead from Industry-nine freehubs.

:) The ACS Custom Flanged Crossfire freewheels are up on eBay now: http://www.ebay.com/sch/bikemotive/m.html?_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1, and a posting http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40217 in the new items for sale on these forums has also been made. These will remain at the $15 price only for the next several days (through the end of May), and then I have to bump it a few dollars to account for the eBay and PayPal cut of the revenues. There is also a listing for the same freewheels but with disc chainring mounting hardware added on, for anyone who doesn't have as many loose screws as I've been finding around here...

Thanks.
Mel.

hey visuthdy
size: 140-68 weight 245g
I sent an email to my contact too see if they still offer them, will post when I get a reply
I think I paid $70 EMS from China

woops.. a bit behind on replying...
Those cranks lasted approx. 4 years.. - replaced the FW twice, and the large chainring once.. the drive sprocket once..

This year.. its nearly a complete rebuild..

Hi Terry,
I am hoping to install front double freewheel with two chainrings on my bike and I like very much what you are doing!
Have few questions please:

1) 148mm ISIS BB - I take it this is the one?:
http://www.sickbikeparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=190

2) Tolken dual bearing FW - any attempts to google this one failed... :(
Can you please give more details?

3) what adapter did you use to secure FW to ISIS BB?

I thought it was going to be something like that :D
but not being familiar with all the brands...

thanks - that's one question answered!

yep thats the BB..However.. I got good news and bad news!!
Do NOT get the Token dual bearing FW.. My ($150) mistake for even mentioning it..
FW was failing after a few km`s..
The good news
my favorite bomb-proof, low-cost FW - the Excess Pro ($21) with 3 pawl engagement system and 30 points of contact
has been upgraded to 60 points of engagement..with the Excess Elite FW.. it is pricier.. ($49) and only comes in a 16T version... But the sideways play seen in the Pro version seems to be completely gone in the Elite model..
