Hi!
Lately i became interested in electric longboards, so i decided to build one :D
For my build i will use an old sector9 longboard with kegel wheels and caliber II 50 trucks (still waiting for them).
I havent decided about the electronics and motor setup. APS or Enertion...
I weigh around 95kg what setup would you suggest? one motor or two motor? I would use 8s or 10s battery (not li-poly)

Size of the cut out for the batteries and esc, after the cut the carbon and kevlar fiber would be applied all over the board (to regain stiffnes and strength)

Any ideas are welcome :)

At 95kg.. If you are flat ground single motor is completely fine. If you want to climb hills a dual motor is better as it puts less stress on a single motor and outputs more power. Also much better when braking.

I run a 12S with Dual 5065 here in San Francisco and can climb most hills 30-35% degree any 40%+ hills I don't necessarily need to climb and/or they will usually have steps for people to walk so it shows how steep the hill actually is.

We should also have our new bolt on trucks for Caliber & Paris within this week and multiple truck adapters will be available.

Allows you to configure your setup to be on either side of the truck with full 360 degree rotation if you want the motors on the backside.

As far as electronics -- if you go 12S. The most popular now are the 12S VESC units which are still partly in beta and take a bit more effort to get working but are great ESCs.

I also sell Sensored 12S ESCs which I should get this week and Sensored motors by the end of the month. VESC Hybrid Sensored will be pretty awesome - best of both worlds.

Alien has Kegel drive wheels. I'm working on them but they aren't available at the moment.

thanks for the info :)
Im a mechanical technician so i will make my own adapters :)
The electrical components are quite pricey. I will probably go for APS 4.4kw kit.

what about joysticks? Your wii nunchuk looks ok, what about others? (e-go...)
