E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Theodore, Rix
There is a little less clearance in the corners of the crossmember but this does not appear to get any closer to the tyre than the old style swingarm. The new version is not any shorter than the old style it is just that the lower shock mounting eyelet is 5mm further forwards to the bearing shell mounts than the old style. We haven't seen any change to the rest of the Bombers' geometry and welding at this point only the swingarm style.

It's going to be really interesting the first time I show up at my favorite watering hole on a bomber.

Thanks to all for the comments on the rear Rim.
I rode it to work and back today and, whilst a little bouncy at times, it seems ok to continue using on occasion for a little. That being said...I got my second pinch flat for this week. After not getting any flats for over a year, I suddenly get 2, and bust up my Rim all in one week. :x I think the DMR Moto's are not handling the off-roading that well any more. Might try putting the Duro's back on till I can fix the rim.

I'm keen to get the easiest replacement rim as possible. Does anyone know what the Rim Stealth use is? Is it the Sun Ringle...it looks similar. I want to re-use the existing 10g spokes if possible, and don't want to have to drill out any eyelets.

Cheers

Thanks for those considered comments Rix, agree, sad for the young guys family, but seriously, no helmet/no lights/riding at night? Crazy stuff. Worth noting it was a motorised bicycle AFAIK, not an eBike, but our Australian legislators are unlikely to differentiate.

On another note, I've got a guy in Canberra, Australia who I'd sold a late 2012 Bomber to that is now looking to move it on, for a range of reasons, I'm happy to vouch for the level of care he gives it. Details are up at http://store.quietrush.com.au/preloved-bikes.html if anyone is down that way or looking to get a friend onto a quality rig.

CD- it comes with complete rims, attached to a current model Bomber..sure, its an expensive way to buy a rim, but look at what else you get thrown in..

Just checked out the Bomber, looks brand new. Did the owner even ride it off road? For anyone looking at a Bomber and don't want to wait, this would be the way to go.

Theodore, I think I have been to that bar, is over on the Fort Worth side of the Dallas Forth Worth metro area?

Rick, that's the world famous Strokers. Originally opened as a Easy Riders, but after a couple of years operation the owner decided to do drop the franchise, and change the name to Strokers Ice House. It is on the West side of Dallas. A motorcycle shop, and bar combined, what genius! They have live bands at least 3 nights a week, and never a cover charge.

So it used to be Easy Rider. Back in 2000, I was on leave and visiting my friend in Denton. We went to a biker bar and grill that looked a lot like the one in your pic. I thought it was over in Fort Worth though, but West Dallas is close, maybe it was it. That long ago, the memory isn't clear, because we were drunk and having a great time   . Anyway if Texas ever secedes, I am selling the house and moving there

If Texas secedes they're going to have no pollution regulations and also they probably will charge you more to have an electric vehicle.

Not true. Unlike the northeast the cops don't hassle ebikers. I've past a few going 40 in a 35 on my way to work. I haven't been stopped.

Yes this is true. The authorities all over the state are very motor bicycle friendly. Considering the good treatment we're getting riding our quasi legal China Girls all over the state, I don't expect any trouble riding a ebike. Personally I'd love it if Texas would secede from our crooked Nazi federal government, and so would most other Texans.

What about ordering the rim from Stealth?
It is not a sun ringle that they are using.
Thanks.
I might do just that. :)

Hi,
I have a new standard 24" bomber rim if you're interested.
Cheers,

Do you guys know how much extra it costs to order the 888fork with the fighter. And can you order the fighter with color matched rims. And if so whats the price for that.

Sikka, Stealth can do custom requests, even custom color powder coat the frame any color on the spectrum for extra cost. Unless something has changed, the Marzocchi 888 fork will run you about a 1000-1200 more bucks US. I can personally attest that the 888 fork I have on my Bomber is much better than the RST it came with. RST do work though and great entry level money saver. With the fork, Stealth offers it at consumer cost as a mod, but if you are willing to settle for a last year or end of year model, you can save 500 bucks by getting the Fighter with the RST and ordering the 888 fork yourself. Example of this is Jenson USA is clearing out 2013 888 and 888CR in the 600-900 buck range to make room for the 2014s that are now available. Next September/October, what ever 2014 stock they haven't sold, will be marked down hundreds as well. Happens every year. Jenson isn't the only store that does this just used them as an example. Don't know where you live, but in the US or North America, contact Darin Brin at Info@StealthElectricBikesUSA.com and tell him what you want. He has been awesome for support and gets me parts directly from Stealth in Australia from time to time as I need them. I have actually ordered parts for other guys in other countries through Darin. Always comes through.

I had to leave my Bomber at my mom's house for a few days on a full charge. Temps are about 4 degrees right now and now I have to recharge the battery (been about 20 minutes and still charging). Should I expect this all of the time now that the weather is colder?

Yup, the stock batteries like HEAT! Unfortunately the motor/controller does not.

Ah good to know. Only took about 25 mins to get it back to full charge. Rode it 40 km in the cold into the city, is my total wattage and Ah use accurate in the cold or do I need to do quick math to what I see on the display? Used about 10 Ah.

Also I wore my heart rate monitor and was surprised I burned 1100 calories in one hour with a max of 170 HR. The ride was roughly mostly downhill. I'm gonna see what the round trip ends up being back up the hills.

Your Ah and wattage use sounds about right. You're braver than me.....I've ridden my regular bike down to -20C on slow mtb rides but you build your own heat when working hard (kind of like xc skiing). 4 degrees C is too cold for me on the Bomber considering the kind of speed it can generate.
