E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Battery will degrade faster I believe. Motor is fine as long you do not overheat it. But the tempterature sensor and the controller takes care of that. 5405 is still great. You will have tremendous power with it and probably less heat building up inside the motor with this controller.
Phase wires are the same. But the standard wires will be ok, I dont think you need to change them like I did.

I Did a 40Km ride today at Burwood forest park A really nice track about 20 minutes from my home. Its right beside the beach at Pegasus bay. Unfortunately my son and wife were busy so no one to ride with and I forgot my video camera!
I will try and get some video there with my son soon!

I think i forgot to say this before but I love riding my Bomber! I am so pleased I sold my motorbikes and bought the 2 Stealth's! some pics from the ride below.

Hey Rodney,

Yep that's a date If you have some time how about we go for a ride? you can use the fighter

This is what ES is all about - traveling hundreds if not thousands of miles away from home and meeting up with friends you've made online (or even relative strangers) and riding ebikes :)

Absolutely! Yep just like when we did the Yosemite trip last year. Its been almost a year already. WTF where did the time go?

Rod and Huge22, one of you guys got to bring the go pro along.

Huge22, that what I did also, sold my XCF 450 and SXF250 to bank roll the Bomber. No regrets at all. Beautiful pics. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Theodore, does it really takes that long... Hard to believe now, have to check this with a camera! Your top speed is really high. You must have pedaled real fast that day!

It's true, it takes a while to get to top speed, but lets face it, 6 hp is barely enough to do 50 mph, and I'm not really seeing 6 hp continuous, only peak. I usually do have to pedal my ass off, especially over 50.

hi guys hope you are all ok and having fun with your bike i am building some trails near to home so i can have more fun

Yep! That's my furthest from home ebike meet up for sure but when ever I visit other Aussie cities now I try and squeeze in a ride. Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Ballarat, Canberra and Newcastle are the Aussie places I've met up with fellow ESers and been for a ride. In the US I met up with yourself in Yosemite and Liveforphysics in Santa Cruz but ran out of time to meet up with locals that contacted me from San Fran and LA. Next time!
I'm off to New Guinea in a few weeks. I don't suppose anyone up there has spare wheels for me to borrow ?

Got a couple of PM about rotor adapters on the 888 Zochs. The folks that inquired said that swapping out the forks the IS tabs on the Zocks are too short to mount the 203mm rotor on to the fork. It must be the calipers. When I switched from the RST 1 to the 888, I kept my 6 pot gator caliper. Well mounting that caliper to the fork, the caliper was no where near the rotor. So I bought the biggest rotor I could find. The gator caliper just barely kissed the rotor. So I cut about 12mm off the IS posts on the fork and lapped the faces, this brought the caliper closer for leg and it just barely fit the 224mm V9 properly. Been running it since. Check out the difference between the 203 and 224mm. I would have never got the gator to fit the 203mm properly. I will post a close up of my 888 on the Bomber and where I cut and lapped the IS posts.

Yah, Allex, that did fit perfect. I had 2 Pm's this week about the brake adapator on my 888s and couple of prior PMs. When I get a chance, I will snap a photo of the 888s to show what I had to do.

My Bomber went from sitting on a washing machine at full speed to sitting on a couch! Well not quite, but the difference is huge! Those RST forks are rubbish, plain and simple. I am one of the folks Rick is referring to. The Gator brakes does not fit in any way on my 888 forks. I took the adapter from the rear brake and put it on the front, and it sort of works. The brake pads touches most if the disc, but it is not perfect. I only have regen on the back for now. Now I broke both chain tensioners, and lost one of those lock plates on the back. I will have to try to make a more solid system. Has anyone improved on this in the past? That welded on bolt on the torque plates is too weak I reckon.

Another thing. When I apply full throttle, i sometimes get a lowering of power just for a split second, and then it keeps accelerating. It is not every time but most of the time. from zero to full speed I might get this one or two times. Is this a rshunt issue or does the CA cut because of too much amp I wonder?

888 or equivalent is the best upgrade I have made to my bike. RST is only good for road use.

Arctic, check your WATT readings when you accelerate hard(if shunt value us correct you should see around 4500-5000W). If this reading overshoot your preprogrammed, CA value will limit the current.
If this is the case, increase the watt limit. Alternatively adjust your shunt value little more.

Ah very interesting. ..I broke one chain tensioner but still have one on the break side. When I regen breaked as usual the wheel began to loosen and I had to constantly tighten the bolts in order to make it home. Today I decided not to regen and just use the standard breaks and no movement or loosening of the bolts. I'm wondering if I get replacement torque plates if it will also break again. Before the mechanic at a bike shop changedy tires...the bomber stock adjusted was really stable during regen.

Good but this means that your shunt is slighly off. Increase it a bit. Stock controller iz only able to output around 5000 tops
You can leave it of course but your stats, such as Wh, Ah and Wh/km will be a bit off, higher than in reality.

Must have been a spike. I have not been able to get over 5000W again. I typically get 4760W at full throttle, top speed 82 kph. But something is off. I get 32.4 wh/h and at 17Ah I get a lower power setting, witch is fine, except I have only gone 39 km and the Voltage is still 76.4V. Should I not be able to drain the battery much lower than 76.4V I have the LVC at 70V.

What do you mean by lower power setting?
39km*32,4wh/ is 1263Wh used

When my bike was new i had ~1200Wh and ~15Ah used. Not sure why you get 17Ah.
BMS in my battery will kick in when voltage is around 76
