My freewheel tool hole is to small to fit the 16mm. Muxus 3,000 v3 turbo axle. Can it be safely drilled out. Will it be to thin of sidewalls ? Or if I put on the freewheel can I get it off later a different way. A dnp 7 speed 32 - 11t.

It's hardened steel and drilling thru it is tough.
Get a conical stone @ the hardware and use your drill motor to "hog" it out.
Go in from both sides and you will quickly have it clearenced.

No, the 14 m/m axle.
But there's plenty of metal in there.
Give it a try, nothing to lose and you can use the metal dust to make a sparkler

4 different web adds said will fit 14mm so can still be true that it will fit 16 or 19mm. Dnp didn't even think of something fatter ???

Ok is is there a will there is a way. Look at my tool bin a stone grinding head No a diamond bit No. Shit I have three masonry bits 16.53 mm with carbide tip so 1 1/2 hour later on the cheap drill press and Wallaa. It works at 16.5mm. Lucky Boy. Now I hav to find some shoulder washer to fit inside the freewheel 6mm. This fat axle muxus v3 turbo ( turbo really) needs a lot of love and attention.
Thanks all

I did mine with a cheap harbor freight step bit.

I took a piece of scrap wood, drilled a hole in it slightly smaller than the tool. smacked the tool with a deadblow so that it pressed into the wood.
then I clamped the wood, and used a regular step bit to bore out the center hole large enough for the axle to press through. easy peasy.

I used a steel drill on a Park tool with no problem. Have a lathe to facilitate the operation, but no reason why a drill press wouldn't work.

having a lathe is cheating.

seriously though, since the hole isnt critical, you could even use a hand drill.. the real trick is holding the tool still without marring it up.
