Ecooter E2 BMS protocol

Hello I`m currently busy with a project regarding a Ecooter E2. I want to use the original display with another controller. I already figured out a lot about he communication between display and controller. I can simulate faults and speed on the display. However i also want to display the battery soc. The display uses a separate one-wire connection to the battery. However i don't have the original battery,

Does anyone have more information about the protocol? The display has a pullup resistor to 5V and the battery pulls it to ground.

I have included a pdf with what i have discovered about the display-controller communication

When not connected, the battery is sleeping and not sending any data.
But when connected to a charger or in the scooter, you can capture the signals with any serial device.
As it's one way communication, you can capture it anywhere, e.g. at the controller. the charging port or at the display harness.

I am going to try to sent packages like that to the dashboard. Too bad i don't have a battery to try to record everything myself,.
 
Still no luck. Do you have the signal recording of your BMS? Did you make it with a logic analyzer?
yeah I made it with logic analyzer. see attached file, its .sal file renamed to .log. Its from Saleae Logic Analyzer. With 88% SoC and 22°C battery temp.

Which bldc controller you gonne use?

Are you able to make a trace when the scooter is off and then turn on ignition while recording? Im trying my best to get an E2 battery to do my own tests :)
 
This would take me a while. But I dont expect any other result, cuz it's enough to connect the bms data wire at any time, even when the scooter is on, showing 0% at the display and then connect the wire, it shows correct SoC.
for your understanding: since my battery connector melted, I've installed XT90 + separate data wire.

I have replayed your file with an arduino and verified the signal with a logic analyzer. But still no change at the screen
 
here the raw file, after turning ignition key. its showing 100% at the display.
rename it to .sal

I can replay 100% and 88%. It would be great if you could provide a 3rd trace with a different SOC. it seems there is a checksum on it.
 
cool, unfortunately I cannot help you with second battery, because I only have main. I know, there must be also the battery temperature coded in the signals.
 
No i will cycle thru all the bytes to hopefully activate battery 2. For the temperature. You mean the temp showing next to trip? That one is measured from a tempsensor wire at the back of the screen itself.
 
I know, that's not what I mean.
The battery temp or at least the bms temp is transfered over the mcu box (telemetry module) the ecooter servers, and can be checked in app. Since there is only 1 data wire, it must be coded in the signals.

I dont have the mcu box unfortunately. so i cant test that for myself. Im trying to find the temp in de signal and simulate 80C so that the screen hopefully throws the E013 error.

all good, as you probably not gonne use the original battery, dont you? it's a nice to have. Just wanted to mention, that there are also other data then soc in the signals.
 
No i dont want to use the orginal battery. Just want the SOC on the screen to work. Yes there seem to be 3 types of messages. Short one for the display soc, and 2 others for the mcu box I think.

Here are my findings so far.
