Envia Systems twice the energy density of lithium cobalt

I guess ENVIA advertising is working. LOL. People should search before posting to avoid double posting.

step 1: pretend to invent something
step 2: issue press releases
step 3: go to investment firms until one dumb enough gives you money
step 4: issue press releases again
step 5: get in magazines
step 6: "demonstrate" technology to "interested individuals" but never showing the public, nor selling anything
step 7: build trial manufacturing facility
step 8: make trial cells
step 9: run out of money mysteriously involving boats cars airplanes and vacations
step 10: issue press releases about how the technology is even better now but it needs another $10m
step 11: raise more money
step 12: repeat until no more investors are available, which never happens because a new batch of people arises every 25 years.

And yet there is this article: http://phys.org/news/2012-08-gm-electric-batteries.html suggesting that GM may be switching from A123 to Envia for its Spark:
Now GM's boss was confirming it. According to Akerson, "I think we've got better than a 50-50 chance to develop a car that will go to 200 miles on a charge (with Envia batteries). That would be a game changer....These little companies come out of nowhere, and they surprise you."
May in part be that GM took a financial stake in the company to maximize its profit margins for the emerging EV market.

The date on the page is Feb 27 2012 so no. I watch all the new battery posts I can but I am no longer excited because if its announced before its released then I feel its related to a money grab of some sort. When you see battery Tech in a EV or LEV or for sale of some kind then you can be excited otherwise its always the same shit expected next year or in 2015 or 2020 bla bla bla.
There is good stuff coming. Everyone is bumping there specs Nissan Zero etc. They are making progress so its good now and will be amazing soon, the battery tech that is, because the Ev's now are getting to be awesome look at the new 2013 Zeros!

What's with the interesting "LG Chem" circle in that plot? Is that lithium-air technology? Thought that was still a decade out.

Looks like Envia was just blowing smoke when they announce their battery a year ago.

Looks like we will have to go back to the waiting room for someone else to make the leap in battery technology

Someones going to have to use very pure lithium that doesn't nucleate the dendrite growth from inside the lithium, as was revealed last week. The dendrites start from inside the lithium, gradually degrading performance as they grow. Or add something that disrupts the nucleation.
