Would like to share my modification of this well known electric kickscooter.
Base setup is 800W brushed chaindrive motor with 36v Lead Acid batteries.
Max speed 35km/h
DSC00264.JPG

The stock setup is is really noisy because of the chain. Charging the battery(12Ah) takes forever, 8h from empty to full. Charger is rated for 2Ah
So I found this wheel with including brake disc at COnhismotor.com for 120USD
This is a geared hubmotor
and A new full-twist throttle for 15USD. The old half-twist is not comfortable for me
DSC00181-002.JPG
The brushless controller from Conhismotor was not really compatible with the wheel, very jerky and also very big.
So I ordered a new 9 FET 72V brushless controller from Lyen.com
http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16998

Swapped the old lead Acid for lipos.
4pcs 10s5Ah Nano-tech from hobbyking.com
Made custom y-cables for main and balancing cables.
Running those in parallel makes it 37V20Ah and the range is around 27km if you run the scooter quite aggressively
Top speed went up to 39km/h
DSC01083.JPG

I have a Hyperion 1420i with a Hobbyking 540W powersupply to charge those things. Max charge current is 10A. It takes around 3hours to charge my 20Ah pack
DSC00679.JPG

So the stock Chinese brakes are crap. Always rattling and always needs adjustment. Got tired and ordered regular bicycle brakes(Shimano BRM495)
Need to space out the rear dropout to make a perfect fit.

Also made custom mud guards from a plastic bucket :) Otherwise you are covered with dirt from a ride on a rainy day.
DSC00897.JPG

Now when I have better brakes I can connect LiPos in 20s10Ah configuration this will get me 84V after charge the Controller puts out 30A so this would be ~2500w(?) of power to the wheel. Controller gets pretty hot with this config so I moved it to the old Motor compartment for better airflow. The motor itself is barely worm
Max Speed is now 60km/h. This is very fast for a such small scooter with those tiny wheels so speed is more than enough for me.

Was not happy with regular battery led indicator because I like to see the real time voltage. Fitted a Digital Volt meter DC 15v-120V on the throttle
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-Volt-meter-DC-15v-120V-red-led-F-Electric-Car-24V-36V-60v-72V-96V-Panel-/300820249631?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item460a48bc1f

And here is the final product:
Spec:
Weight: 28Kg with lipo
42V@39km/h Range: 25km to 40km
84V@60km/h Range not yet tested.

Peace...

Wow! Nice work.Bet it gets a bit twitchy at speed but what a sleeper! Bet you give the lycra boys fits when you blow them off the road, HA!

Alex that's really cool, how about a few HD videos of it in action ?

Do you think this could be put in the trunk of a bus, or carry on a train, tram ? I could see a lot of uses for this.

60 kph a bit fast ? I could see this being safe on a road or city streets, sidewalks, or foot paths as we call them ?

Very clean upgrade Allex.

I can't find the hub motor on the Conhis website. Do you have a link?

Cheers.
Greg

Thanks all.
You have to email them, they do not have this motor option on their site.
I saw that they have similar scooter with brushles motor and asked if I only could buy the motor wheel itself.

Trunk on a bus no problem just fold it. But its a bit heavy for carrying ~28kg!
Videos..have to wait, do lazy to make them :)
I do use it on sidewalks or bikepaths but you dont have to go 60, but good to have the power on acceleration/uphills.

Dont think so, not sure how big the pings are tho.
Here are the dimensions:

And here is 12s20Ah A123 from cellman

Wow the A123 fits perfectly ! No the ping won't fit.

Maybe you could fit 44V 20 ah LiPo ?

Did you say you're getting 60 km/h with 37 volts ?

You can fit 20s40Ah LiPos in there
No 39Km/h with 37V and 60 with 74V.

Really ? 20S 40ah ? that's around 3kw hrs, that would be around 76 miles at 40 wh/m

How stable is it at 60 km/h ? How comfortable would you be on it after about 10 miles, not blasting at 60/kmh but more like 25-30.

I probably would have gone with an rc type motor. Probably get the same speed with less voltage. But the hub works.

I am getting 27km with 10s20Ah to get 40km on one charge is very difficult, only if you ride slow as a regular bike. I drive this thing like a gasser :D flat out and than brake! The terrain here goes up and down so this is also an impact on my range. So you can forget about 40wh/m :)
I am used to motocross/motorbikes so driving with this thing one hour and make 27km is not a problem for me, I do not get tired.

Right now it is not that stable, its kind of tricky to handle having front wheel in a smaller size. I really need to have front wheel bigger or at least same size than the back to get a better handling. But I am pretty used to it now as it is.

Well put in all 20S 40Ah, that's crazy storage, but you'll have lots of fun for longer !

I'd say it's a lot of fun, I would be worried about the small wheels though.

I think it has a lot of practical use, would you fit it on a train/trap easy enough without people getting mad ?

Do you not use the seat ?

If you put bigger wheels it would not be as compact as it is today. People have bicycles on trains so why not have this one...
Yes I use the seat sometimes, it just looks so much better without one :)
Here is Pavels Evo with bigger wheels:

Hello Allex, clean upgrade !
Could-you confirm that the Cellman 12s1p 20Ah A123 is less than 169mm width ?
Because I saw 175mm width on EM3ev web store, and your measurement is 169mm.

Thanks !

Hi Allex,

Very neat upgrade 8), i have also upgraded my evo scooter from SLA to 12s a123 20a, but still stuck with the stock motor.

How your motor act on hills, does it get hot ?

Here is something that will make charging match easier for you:
