Hello everyone. I’m new here and new to the EVT 168. I bought one today. The issue I’m running across is it isn’t strong enough to drive while sitting on it. When on the kickstand and the scooter is lifted the wheel turns but not too fast. Under the seat there are about 3 or 4 batteries in the gray cases. All of the lights turn on and the gauge shows the 4th green light. Can someone please help?

Pictures would probably help.

First I suggest you make sure that things can turn freely. Make sure the brakes don't rub too much on the discs, that the bearings are in good condition, etc. For this you must lift both front and rear wheel and see how well they turn when you move them by hand. The front wheel must turn very freely, it should be able to do a few turns with a hand push. The rear wheel should have a little bit more resistance to it because of the motor, if it can keep turning around half a turn with a push then it's probably ok.

I suppose there should also be a 3 gear switch somewhere, usually near the throttle. You can try setting it to the fastest gear and see how it goes.

It's not easy to help with so little information.

Thank you. It kind of just seems like the wheel isn’t getting a lot of power. Not enough for the wheel to move when sitting on it. But I’ll try those things.

I just checked a bit more and apparently this scooter seem to exist in two different versions, one with brushless motors, and one with brushed motors. Very unusual, nowadays brushless is pretty much the standard for any vehicle, brushed motors are old tech.

This behavior you described could be explained by a defective brushed motor, if there's something wrong with the brushes it can significantly lower the motor's performance.
That means you'll have to either replace the motor or find a way to repair it. If you're really lucky maybe a good cleaning of the brushes system might be enough. You can have a look at this thread that will show you what to do: Cleaning an EVT4000 electric scooter Hub Motor | V is for Voltage electric vehicle forum
My guess is that a few brushes are already gone, so only some parts of the motor windings actually get power, which is why it's so weak.

But again, all of this is just speculation since you didn't share pictures.

G'day there.
Dui is right, there's a power/eco switch on the right bar.
I agree with him about the brushes too. IIRC. There's 6 or 8 brushes running on an axial commutator. If 1 or more are sticking in the holder, you lose power. That's assuming you have a brushed motor.
The controller label shows if it's brushed or brushless.
With it on the centre stand, apply a little throttle.
Does it turn smoothly under power or does it shudder & jerk?
If it shudders it's probably a stuck or worn out brush(es).
Brush dust can collect between the stator & rotor causing drag & may have to be blown out.
Does the motor turn easily by hand?
If it's brushless, you may have a bad hall or a bad phase.
But before ripping into the motor though, get machine on the ground & with it switched on CAREFULLY twist the throttle with brakes off. Does the green battery led go off? If so, you've just got a bad battery.
