The description must be incorrect. I use these batteries at 30 amps with no problems. My main bike has done more than 1000 miles like that and the battery is two years old with no noticeable loss of performance or capacity. I have three of them. If you look, you'll notice that they have the same description for the 10aH version, so, you'd expect the 20aH one to be double.

They use their Smart BMS in it, which comes in two versions: 10 to 20A or 20 to 40A. They must use the 20 to 40A one, because I'm regularly at the 30 amps max of my controller, so in my reckoning, they're rated at 20 amps continuous and 40 amps max.

thanks for the info, then I will start with this battery pack, and if everything works well I will buy me a more expensive one.

I'm not so much building an E-bike as refitting one: a Currie EZIP Trailz that I want to put a front geared hubmotor on, so I can ride quietly on level ground (using the Currie drive with lowered gearing on hills), and have a cruise control to take the strain off my damaged hands. How much speed can I expect from a 250 watt geared hub on level ground, on a 26" bike? I'm limited to 24 volts because I have a less than year old Ping 20AH 24V pack. It looks like I want the Golden Motors 902 kit. Any advice? (Aside from "get a 36 volt pack", I mean.)

Hey,

It's a long time since i had time to post about my project. Butt the last month i made a lot of progress.

I didn't wanted order a battery from BMSbattery, because i need a 48V 20aH 40A Max battery.
The battery that BMSbattery has was too big for me.

So I started looking for something else.

So i decided to order my battery and some other parts from em3ev.

In the beginning i had a lot of questions, so i sended a lot of e-mail's to the contact of em3ev.
They were always very helpful and i never had to wait longer than 24 Hrs for answer.
a few days after that i paid for my order i decided that i wanted a extra 7sp freewheel 11T.
So i sented a e-mail to em3ev that i wanted to order an extra 7sp freewheel 11T and if it was still possible to put it in the same package. They replayde "no problem we will put it in for free"

This is the battery i ordered.

i'm glad you got it finiished. please let us know how you get on with it.

One observation. I don't likr=e the way you've installed the torque arm, even though you've done it in the normal way. It would be much better like this. You can make the tie bar out of mild steel. Just drill two holes:
