yep, has the red push button.

PS, nice builds Denisesewa, your one of the guys who got me all jacked up on the gng thing.

Thanks

You need to determine if the switch is a " push on / push off type" if its just a momentary switch ie. one that makes a connection only while being pushed it would be of no use with the GNG controller as far as I know, if it is a push on push off type you could run the small red wire that has to have power to excite the controller ( you should have that red wire hooked to your battery positive now) and run it to one of the switch wires and the other switch wire would go to battery positive. test the switch wires with a multimeter to see what the switch actually does.
Hope that makes sense, I'm kinda tired :|
Thanks for the compliments.

Awesome! I need one of those wider motors!

This could be it!

In the lowest pic it looks like three stacked stators??

Nope. That's the same motor we know with the cooling fan on the right side. Center case and armature are the same. It just has a different spindle and the right case has a hole for the spindle to exit. I'll find the pictures of the 'beast' and post them.

These photos were from an E-S friend in Portugal. I can write and ask him how to get these motors if anyone wants one.

Wow pretty cool! If the GNG motor takes 2000 watts, what maybe 3000+? Could it be made to fit the GNG system? Would be a great motor if you can run it through the gears for mid powered systems!

I just mean several people have done it so this one should do more...

I think we need to be consistent and keep to continuous output watts at a stated rpm or continuous torque... The GNG motor is rated for 500 Watts at 2500 rpm?

That's fine and I mean no disrespect but we both know it'll take more than its rated amount in real riding conditions unless you're climbing Pikes Peak..

The BHT motor is completely different than the GNG despite having a somewhat similar looking center case.

The wide motor that is basically the same as the GNG would require a completely different mount because of it's width. The convenient thing about the motor GNG uses is that it's overall width is the same as a bottom bracket. This makes it easy to align the drive with the chainwheel and still keep everything in between the pedals. All of the extra width of this big motor would have to hang off of the left side to align the right side drive.

My E-S friend Antonio thinks this big 'GNG' motor will take 3kw no problem. He is going direct drive to the rear wheel which I think is smart with this power level. For the power crazed (*ahem* Christer) it might be a good option. Too long and too powerful for mid drive, I think.

If you mean that someone saw a higher figure on their CA for a few minutes, sure.... I know I'm fighting a losing battle on this one :)

unless you use it directly on the other side or if you got a 100 mm Dh BB as on the du comp or i think you use an outside BB to put the width between...

Yes, directly. That's what I meant. The motor could be mid bike mounted, but I don't think it's a good choice to run through the BB and the derailleur.

I took some measurements on my 122mm bb setup, and I think I can fit it (78mm center case) in with custom mounts on the bad boy. Sorry LR, I know that idea gives some heart burn, but it will not be easy, and not for most folks. I want one to try for the DH bike build for certain. I know the hubby crowd is not taking the GNG motor seriously, but it looks to me to be a much superior design in terms of overall cooling and adaptation to taking power off the drive shaft in a relatively compact structure. Best part is that they are relatively cheap.

I asked before and no response, HAS ANYONE BURNED ONE UP?

Going by the calculator. http://kreuzotter.de/english/espeed.htm Mine is putting out around 1700 watts to get the speed it does on the flats and this is using 12s lipo. This power level does not burn it up even into a relatively tough section of climbs of 3 miles. Not even hot! I am sure it will burn up at some point, just wondering who has done it and what it took.

cheers

No man, go for it! If you can manage to stuff a 502 CID Chevy V8 into a Bugeye Sprite, more power to ya! :D

All the motors that BHT list have the same dimensions...
