Can you recommend me, any better than this one, waterproof connector for 2000W hub motor, 45Amps controller, 2x48V 17.5aH battery ams 30Amps each BMS.
Just burned mine, during the ride from work. It was like grrrrrrrr then smoke then silence😉
Maybe because there was a cloudburst this morning and some water managed to get inside.
Thank you.

Can I use XT150 with 8AWG wires for my 2000W hub motor phase wires?

2000W hub motor
2x48V 17.5aH with 30Amps esch BMS
45AMPS Controller

My plug just melted during typical English weather...
Thank you

Yes, a bit overkill for a 45A controller but why not. The problem is the wires going through the axle are probably too small which is probably what melted the connector. Ideally you would replace those although it's not as easy of a process so many just cut them quite short and switch to heavier wires from there to the controller.

Hard to tell what connector you’re using from the pic. There are several motor connectors halfway down the page here

Yes, I want to switch to heavier wires from there to the controller. I wont managed to replace those, its not that easy as you mention. Also, there is no much space for heavier wire to fit inside the motor.
I dont think the wire is to small. This is original wire and everything was working for last 5 months. My 45 controller is set anyway for 25Amps. I think, the rain did it because before everything was ok. I had to walk few miles, I couldn't see anything in front of me. I live here 20yrs and never seen anything like that. Maybe during the ride the wire comes loose and water managed to get inside.

Yeah if you don't have a proper soldering iron it will be easier to use a bullet connector that either has a plastic cover that snaps on after or one without and use heatsink. That way you don't have to worry about melting the connector if the iron takes too long to heat it up.
Ive got big soldering iron. Yes.

Hmmm, hard to tell from your photo but they look like Anderson Power Pole knockoffs. Be careful with those. The counterfeit versions have been known to burn and melt easier and have less reliability and fit than the genuine ones overall.

Anderson PPs also can give trouble if the wire/contacts are inadvertently deformed enough that they are impeded from moving around slightly in their shells.

Those aren't bullet connectors, they're Anderson knockoffs. 55A.

Note that phase current can be 2 to 3 times your battery current when the motor is under load (climbing, accelerating, etc.).
Ok. Can I use XT150 with 8 or 10AWG or what wire and bullets connectors would you recommend exactly?

Sorry, wrong picture. I was thinking about 10AWG wire and XT150 connectors (picture)
