To add to Chalo's summary, you can replace the battery, controller, and display with a higher voltage, current, and wattage setup to proportionally increase the speed, but it's likely that only the display will fit where the old one did, so you'll have to secure the new larger parts to the bike in other places.

At a guess it would probably be $500-$1000+ depending on how much battery you need to do the job you need the bike to do for you under the specific conditions it has to do that job, and for how much range you need under those conditions. The faster and farther you have to go and the less flat and windless the conditions are, and the less perfect the roads are, the bigger a battery (and controller, etc) you will need.

The motor may be unhappy with the extra load and heat generated by using it beyond it's original design, but it may handle it ok. If not you can replace it with a better one; the cost for that will depend on what you need, probably another $200+.

At that point, however, you've replaced everything except the bike itself (which you may also have to replace parts on to improve it to work well enough for you at the higher speeds, such as braking and/or suspension or wheels), and it would then be cheaper to return (or sell) that bike as it is now and instead buy or build a bike that already does what you want it to do.

If you still want to try increasing the speed, but prefer to do it in bits and pieces to just see what happens, the first part to replace is the controller and display. You'd need one with a higher current limit than the original (because it takes more power to go faster because of air resistance), and one that has no built in speed limit. The display usually has to come with the controller to work with it, as they are not typically intercompatible.

Depending on the connectors used on the bike, you may have to cut and splice wiring to change parts out, and test for or guess at the correct wiring as there aren't any standards truly adhered to in this stuff, and not even the colors of the wires are consistent, so you can't always just match colors (it's possible to blow up parts by connecting them wrong, so it's best to research and test first...but often enough you have to just guess at some things).

Once you start this process you probably can't return the bike and would likely have a hard time selling it if it isn't working, so be sure you want to and can afford to go down this path before you start.
I'm wanting to know if I can cut the speed limit wires and make my hey bike mars 1.0 go faster ? Let me know

I have a hey bike mars which I put new pads on and they keep having to be adjusted because they go out, but mainly I need more speed it only goes 25mph downhill and I'm 195lb it runs about 22mph top speed normally. I have had for two months im on a budget what can I do ? Can I cut the speed limit wires? Would this work on this bike? Or what can I buy I'm trying to go over 30mph at least and I will be satisfied. HELP . 9713357065 IS MY NUMBER NAME IS PHIL.

Hey guys first post here. I'm gonna need some help soon when the rest of my parts come in. Here is my bike and upcoming undertaking:

Bluvall SU8 "1500w 20ah 48v"

The upgrade will be:
•72v battery (20s, 15p) (I'll be building this myself with salvaged lishen cells (10a 3200mah) 85-90% health/capacity.
- JKBMS 200a continuous/350a max BMS w/0.6a balance and Bluetooth app.
•FarDriver Controller: ND72450
•DKD Display
•Full twist throttle with key and voltmeter display on it.

I'm leaving the stock "1500w" motor for now. Gonna see what It will do going from it's stock 48v 33a max controller to this new fardriver and 72v battery I'll build.
From what ive gathered online which is slim to nothing, (just researching clones from China manufacturers) is that my specific motor (if I'm right), will gladly run fine on the 7-10kw @72V I'll feed it. But ya know, will see. I have no other specs on it. If anyone knows anything, let me know. I'm gonna post pics with this post of everything relevant.

What I'm going to need help with when it gets here, is the new fardrivers hall wires and peripheral stuff, with the new display and making it all work.

I'll be fine making the new battery, as I'm pretty decent at battery builds already. I have never used the new BMS. The whole Bluetooth thing is gonna be new for me.

Also, just a note. This is my very first ebike. Had it for like 4 months. I've put a few thousand miles on it already. I have a electronics background with lots of wiring and battery building experience and I'm self taught in all this ebike world stuff so far. But this new fardriver and display and throttle and making it all work, id really appreciate help on.
I'll be as active and thorough on here as possible with people.
I think this will start to look like a Upgrade Log as I go.

This bike as of now, with the 33a stock (shunt modded) controller and 30a BMS on the stock battery went 33-34mph. Range was shit at like 12mi tops (@ full throttle the whole time on various road grades).

Anyways, hello to all, this is my bike/project, please help when and where you can. I appreciate you all in advance!View attachment 369213View attachment 369214
I got a heybike mars 1.0 I'm trying to go faster also and I'm in a budget I got 48v 12.8battery with I think only 500w motor it only tops at 23 to 25mph I want to go over 30 help me build this and maybe u want to sell old battery and motor etc. After u level up for a good deal let me know please

Why you wanna go to fast on your abomination? You wanna go fast, start with a bike that wants to do that. It's like you have a hunchback dwarf you want to get into the Olympics. I mean, good luck, but you'll need more than luck.

That's almost never how it works. Either you haven't got the power to go faster, or you have controller firmware that limits the RPM. The only case in which you have wires you can join or disconnect to unlock more speed is if the manufacturer intended for you to do it, which is doubtful. Why would they?

What's the voltage of your battery and the current rating of your controller? If you furnish those, we can make a good guess at what's the hypothetical top speed in optimum conditions. My guess is you're dreaming if you think it will go significantly faster. Not least because your bike is a crippled pig that fights any attempts at speed.

Good to know you probably didn't read the post you quoted (or the rest of that thread Heybike Mars top speed).

I moved all your posts in ohter people's threads to the thread you've already got, to keep eveyrthing in one place for those trying to help you.
