Heybike Mars shuts down

I have a Heybike Mars that shuts the display, controller & lights off when I get on the bike and hit the throttle or try pedal only & no throttle, I then have to turn the key off and back on, then turn on display only to have it do it over. It will work if I'm not on the bike and lean it to test it so the rear wheel is off the ground and then I can go full throttle. I got no error msgs. Its like it can't handle the torque and shuts everything off. The bike has only 88 miles so its pretty much brand new. and only ridden twice (at burning man)

If you have a voltmeter, before cycling the battery off and on, measure the voltage at the battery discharge connector. That will tell you if the battery BMS is tripping. What you are describing sounds like a battery pack problem.

I will try that, thanks. The battery had been replaced back in august 2024 allegedly. Not sure why they did. It looked original to me. I'm going to test it out and dismantle if necessary to replace the BMS. Thanks for you input. Heybike is only concerned if the warranty was good, which it is expired. Tragic with only 88miles that it could be destined for the scrapyard or possibly made into a sidecar for my cheetah.

Success! it was a bad BMS. Heybike wanted me to change out the key cylinder for $40+. I was given this ebike from my uncle who rode it twice only at Burning Man, at first it was locating the key, after 2 months, it was recovered. But then the issue of the battery which is now resolved. I hate folding bikes, but having my uncle riding it across the desert at burning man makes me smile. I'll tell him that it had a severe case of BMS.. Burning Man Syndrome It would make for a nice side car though!
