Hi guys,
I recently received a SCR (model "KP300A") after a lengthy wait from the Chinese postal service to Australia. Here's a picture of what I expected to receive:
Here's what I actually received:
Can you spot the difference?
It seems the thyristor I received is missing the gate trigger lead(s)! No, they're not hidden behind or underneath the heatshrink. There are not even holes in the ceramic base where the wires should be. So now I am puzzled if I was sent an incomplete product, sent the wrong product, whether this is an SCR at all, or all of the above.
I've done a bit or research and think maybe it's the type of SCR that has to have a higher voltage (temporarily) put across the anode and cathode than what it is switching.
Any info is welcome.
Cheers guys.
