How to connect an alarm to battery?

I'm going to connect a GPS alarm on my 60V scooter.
Do i just find a random place where the voltage is 12V and then connect it? Or is there a better way?

I guess it would be better with a 60V-12V converter, if that exists.

It's common fro the lights and stuff to be 12V, so check them and see. If they are you can tap into the source for that.

Lights are only on if dc/dc converter is on.
