HS3540 - How do I remove the cover?

I have a HS3540 that's got the infamous wire issue, and I managed to disassemble the motor:

Now the problem is: How do I remove the side cover so I can change out the phase wires? (It looks like the hall wires are intact, just the phase wires that are stripped)

Also, is it likely that this issue damaged anything in my build? For example the controller or hall sensors?

I couldn't find this anywhere on the forum so I'm bumping this... Do I remove something so the cover becomes loose or what?

I just undid the screws then used a three legged puller between the disc and the motor shaft and it came right off.

The cover just slides off. Its just hanging up on the phase wires. Its a bit of a challenge to get the first bit started but keep wiggling it and applying pressure to the axle and it will slide off.
