i posted this video into a motorbike forum.. see what they think..
Which forum ? And why did they delete it ?
Not motorbike enough for them ? Or too cool ? :p

Sorry Jay, havnt been here for a few days, but on my youtube page I see your new videos which are great. The motorbike forum was http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/133?g=170 . I think they deleted it because there was a decicated video thread but I posted it as a new topic. Also Im sure it was to cool for them.. :)

i think the google earth video is great. who needs a quadcopter, lol? so did you pay for google earth pro subscription? another business advertising expense?

Nice video. Pity there was no footage from the train.
Yeah it wasn't planned unfortunately so I didnt have a camera for my wife.

How long did it take to edit?
Probably about 6hrs in total and a while stuffing around with google earth for those shots.

Nope, used the free version and used fraps to vid cap it :)

In unrelated news, sadly I won't be posting any more videos for a while.
I was riding with mates on saturday and have some footage from that which I'll edit when I get time but I'll be out of action for a while to come

Offroading on saturday I was fine, woke up sunday with some chest pain that felt sorta muscular but got worse as the day went on. Today I was worse still and collapsed on the way to work (walking from the carpark, I felt too unwell to ride)
After a day in the emergency dept and alot of painful tests they found a big mass in my chest about the size of a tennis ball. It's cancer
Obviously I'm hoping for a positive outcome but even if I do pull through there's a long and rough road ahead and no amount of plush suspension will soften it!

I guess my next ebike build won't get it's maiden voyage for a while but the upside is I have plenty of down time to plan it!

Modern treatments can be very effective, but not fun.

Wish ya the best, dude.

Woah. Man that is horrible news indeed.

What is the prognosis, or is it too early to tell?

How is Mrs Hyena taking the news?

My Dad had bowel cancer a few years back, ended up having to remove a large portion of his lower intestine, but he pulled through, did the sydney to hobart a year later. Keep positive, and do everything you can to kick it.

All the best,
Adrian

My god, i was just posting on the awesome vid when i read the next page , what awful news mate, our thoughts are with you and your family.

D

Jay I'm very shocked to hear your news and my thoughts are with you mate.
Keep your thoughts positive and remember the Dr's are very good at sorting cancer out these days.
Look after yourself mate.
Cheers,
Matt.

Mate I am in shock. I am hoping you are going to post over the top and say it is all a joke, but I figure you aren't the kind of guy to think that is the sort of thing you joke about. Speechless.

Jeez :(

That really kicks things in to perspective mate, there is nothing you can say that makes things better dude so I am not even going to try, what I will say is I can tell from the brief time I have known you on here that you are a fighter and you will give it 150 percent, you better not go anywhere dood! the revolution needs its top soldiers Jay and you are John Rambo!

Keep strong Jay

damn it man, i'm really sorry to hear that. I was trully sadened when i read that.

All the best to you and i'm sure you'll pull through.

Shit man, I am really sad to hear this! For what its worth, my dad had a bout with it and has been good thus far after treatment. They removed it and he had to do chemotherapy but it seems to have worked.. wishing you all the best, and if there is one piece of advise I can give, its don't get down about it. Get up and kick the shit out of that thing! Don't ever say can't!

Ahh shit Jay  At least they've caught it early?
Yes and no, the radiology report says it's very aggressive and fast growing - overnight it apparently started pushing on my ribs and sternum, which is what gave me the chest pain. It's been there for a while but it's rampaging now... :|
I had 5 biopsies today, 3 of which were big core biopsies using needles the size of 12 gauge wire. Let me tell you having those shoved right into my chest and then wiggled around didn't exactly tickle. Apparently the bone marrow biopsy I have to do in a few days hurts even more so I'm not looking forward to that. Oh well, better than the alternative.
Once i have the biopsy results (hopefully end of the week) the oncologists will know what sort of chemo to give me (and/or open chest surgery)

Thanks for the kind words fellas. Mrs Hyena isn't taking it too well, she lost her mother to breast cancer not long ago so the thought of losing me too is too much for her. We're keeping positive though and if it looks like things are going to shit after the doctors best efforts then we'll worry about the morbid stuff.

I haven't really thought too much about it from my side. If I get snuffed well, it's game over. The though of my kids growing up without a father is what really upsets me.

One thing is obvious from your vids, you're a force of positivity. You'll whack it for a six and be back in the saddle making more great videos very soon.

My thoughts, as all of ours, are with you Jay. Keep thinking positive and ride with it. If they have to crack your chest open, you get a really cool scar.

You're too young and too cool for this free-radical lodgement BS. And to think that pack-a-day smokers have lived into their 90's.....

I know your a med yourself, but please watch the documentary 'Dying to have known' and make up your own mind if your not familiar with Gerson Therapy. (try and forgive the dodgy old footage/narrative. Much was filmed decades ago, but only compiled/released recently)

Heh yeah I might get them to make it circular, iron man style :p

Boostjuice, I'll watch that vid when I get time, thanks.
One of the ladies I have in my research team at work is big into food related cancer treatment and prevention. As a through and through scientist I'd rather take the refined pharmaceutical end product but alot of stuff does come from all sorts of plants so it does make sense.

I had 5 biopsies today, I recommend everyone have that done at some stage in their life, but only if the alternative is to have your balls crushed in a vice while having hot pokers shoved into your eye balls.
They did some fine needle biopsies under local anaesthetic then decided they needed some bigger samples but rather than put me out they'd try with just the local. So they shoved in some big ass needles the size of coat hanger wire. WHACK, straight in, pulp fiction style. Then jiggled them around in there to snag some nice lumps and bumbs. That tickled.

I see the oncologist tomorrow then I'll know exactly where I stand. At this stage even if i can get a 10 year remission they should have all sorts of fangled new drugs out by then that can hopefully knock it on the head for good.

Next on my list of things to do, buy novelty wigs to cover my soon to be ball ass head. haha

If it wasn't so serious, there's a comeback in there :p I had a lumbar puncture about 45 years ago with no anaesthetics (unless you call having 4 nurses sit on each limb a pain killer) so I can understand what they (the biopsies) felt like.

And that ...

Keep positive,
GT

All the more reason to expand your collection...

Were all here for you, and you're young and strong, you can lick it !

My thoughts are with you,

with all the pulp fiction crap, did one of the nurses at least look like Uma Thurman?
