Soo... some may have noticed I haven't been online for a while, it's been a whirlwind 2 weeks getting bounced from doctor to doctor for a million tests. I got the bill today for the biopsies I had last week, $850. Ouch, that hurts more than the needles going in! Fortunately a big chunk of that is covered by medicare and hey, if I'm around to complain about the price that's a good thing
I've finished all the tests now, they have a positive diagnosis of hodgkins lymphoma. I've been nervously waiting for them to stage the disease and they came back saying stage 2, which is worse than stage 1 but not as bad as stage 4. I have secondary tumors that have appeared in my neck now but apparently prognostically that's still better than it being elsewhere in my body. Thankfully my liver and bone marrow came back clear, if there was involvement there I've be in alot more trouble.
6 months of chemo starts monday, followed by radiotherapy. There's good odds the chemo alone will knock it but the radio is for good measure at the end. They'll do some more nuclear scans 3 months in to see how it's responding, hopefully by then the tumors will have had a decent ass kicking. They said they may not totally go away and may remain there as scar tissue of sorts but as long as it's metabolically not active that's the main thing.
While up at the RTA earlier getting my temporary disabled parking permit I also grabbed an application for a motorbike license.
My missus hit the roof
She put on such a performance I've actually binned it for now. She reckons she's not going through all the stress of nearly losing me to cancer only to have me kill myself on a motor bike. I don't think she realises I'm not safer on my ebike but hey if it helps her sleep easier at night I suppose I'll put it off for now. This just means I have to build an ebike now with true motorbike performance, but with a bicycle frame and pedals to keep her mind at ease

I'm off to buy myself a new eee pad transformer today - 10" android tablet
how do you like it?
i'm thinking of one, but of course i will glue an apple logo onto the back.
hah, apple fanboi

It's the shizzle, moving wallpapers 4tw! 8)
It does alot of other cool stuff too over the ipad, the only draw back is there's not as many apps for android but I'm sure that will change in the coming months. That said even the free apps I've loaded it with so far are great and will keep me occupied for ages. It can't handle the 60fps 720p raw footage from the gopro but it can handle 720p once re-encoded. I also like the freedom to drag and drop stuff over USB unlike apple products, and the integrated micro SD slot for expansion means I don't have to pay $100+ extra for the next model up that has $20 worth of extra ram.
Chroot the galaxy was an option but the eee was a fair bit cheaper and will be fine for me. No issues so far.

Dont get chemo. To many side effects, including cancer...
lol, yeah and if you read the possible side effects on a box of panadol it says headaches too
Call me crazy but I'm taking my chances with modern medicine
Have you seen this movie - Burzynski: Cancer Is Serious Business movie - http://vimeo.com/24821365? Its like who killed the electric car but its about cancer.
No I haven't but I'll check it out in my spare time, which I'm soon to have an abundance of!
Thanks again for the well wishes guys, especially those who emailed and PM'd me too. Apologies if I didn't respond to all of the PMs, clearly I've been kinda tied up
Anyway enough of that cancer bull crap for now, my next post will be about my new bike I'm building up
