I found a skateboard park today while riding my e-bike.

I've lived in this area for 9 years and I never knew it existed. I used to skate when I was young. I wonder if I can still do it. They had it hidden in this back road behind some trees. It's like they were trying to hide it or something. Weird. It's got some mini- half-pipes....I don't know what they are called. I tried going up and down some of it on my e-bike. My e-bike struggled getting up some of the ramps. It was nuts because I entered this little parking lot and there it was. I was like....whoa....what the hell. I didn't even think they had skateboard parks in Indianapolis, IN.

You hear about stuff and even read about it, and it doesn't actually become real for you until it happens to you.

I'm talking about "can I do what I used to"...The older you get, the longer it takes to heal and bounce back from any injury, no matter how small. I have a sneaking suspicion that most skateboard parks are secretly funded by the dental association, that, and also kiddie hockey leagues...

Yeah. I used to skate too. Used to. I don't snowboard anymore either.

If you're ever tempted to take up downhill skiing or snowboarding, go to a ski/snowboard store and ask each employee how long they've been into snow sports, and how many orthopedic surgeries they have had. I will be walking with a cane when I'm an old man unless I get a complete ankle replacement. I was excited when the FDA approved those this year.

Stick to something safer, like paragliding.

I skiied for 20 years, but now prefer softer, liquid water. So it's windsurfing. Only thing I ever broke was a rib once. Snowboarding though, I learned real fast no to do unless a foot of fresh soft snow had just fallen. I'd ski 50 mph, but no way I'd go faster than 25 on a snowboard. Last time I skateboarded the wheels were steel.

Began dirt @12, ski @14, street @19, boarding @23, contracting @30, fatherhood @36 ended all but contracting. 140 on a bike, trees @ 20 & endo's just don't seem all that thrilling anymore.... girl scouts & PTA rule....!!!!
