I hope the IVT proves out, and the wobbler part of the mechanism doesn't lead to durability issues, because this certainly looks to be more efficient than the NuVinci. 1:0-1:1.6 range is incredible too. That makes any hill possible as long as you have sufficient traction.

How big is your chainring? Quite large ones can be made, you know. Especially on a 'bent, since there's usually no ground or frame/chainstay clearance to deal with.

Alternately, you could add a jackshaft where the chain goes to a small ring at one end, and another chain comes off a larger one at the other.

I asked the local bike shop, if there are any bigger blades than mine, but there aren't. I'm pedaling like a hamster on steroids at full speed.

I'm having a hard time getting my head wrapped around this one.

So far as I can understand, it seems that only one set of the three sawtoothed rings is engaged at a time (bearing all the drive force)? While the other two sets are "losing-ground"(?)

im no genius but i like this-

"All mechanical advantages are tailing so... the weak or limiting point of energy transfer will always be down the line from the transmission (like a belt, tire, blade, outside cog, etc.)"

Hi,

Looks like it needs a custom bottom bracket which isn't good. Might have made more sense to design it for the rear hub.

YESS! 70 tooth cog wheel
 the price is a big cooler

If you have a drill, and some aluminum sheet, you can make your own. I have a program that prints out sheets you spray glue onto the sheet to give you all the drill points for any chainring you want to make for any BCD.
