Ok, great!
Make sure that all surfaces have good contact, those clamps should have flat surface where the lugs from welder go, and battery terminals should be clean. We are talking about really big current's here so every bit of resistance counts

Nope, not going to use them. Nothings broke, nothing to fix. Since every spot welder maker and site suggests using copper I'll stick with them, and you. Unless you warranty the experiment?riba2233 said:Great, can't wait to see the results!![]()

Mine came. Nice cheap tips for soldering but definitely STEEL tips and steel in the shaft.
The tips are clearly highly magnetic, the shaft somewhat less but still there's a steel shaft. Perhaps sheathed in copper. Off to the grinder...
18650dude said:No go for me. The tips stick to the Nickel strip after the weld. I can see the tips getting Red hot. Giving up on this experiment and sticking to Copper electrodes for now.

Why, I mean, those supplied work fine. What needs to be fixed? None supplied by spot welder suppliers and builders use solder tips. Maybe they know something? Just saying...18650dude said:How about these:
JP will ship and sell too!Allex said:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Copper-Rod-Bar-Different-DIAMETERS-and-LENGTH-Super-Price-/181843992139?var=480792712823&hash=item2a56bf1e4b
Just buy a 5mm rod for 5 bucks and then you can weld until you grow old.

Mammalian04, I've updated my thread, I'm not sure if I'm on the right track but time will tell. 20s8p.

There is a "notify" list, I will inform people on the list when I have welders available, but I'm also gonna write it here.
