Kona Stinky Six 2009 Conversion

Hose clamps are awesome after all i did my testing on two downhill tracks today and the screws remained at there positions ;) with e-braking at 60 km's/hour sudden stops and all braking abuse you can think off.

An update on the tubeless system.

I converted the front tier to tubeless using a regular 2.7 DH maxxis tier with a hole i wanted to test the kits claims!!!The seal guard fixed the issue on the tier and i can put 35 psi in it with no leaks. The seal survived the two downhill tracks without loosing more than a few drops of the seal.Overall the tubeless system can take the abuse i want. And by that i mean full throttle on rocky trails at 75v30A ~ 2,4KV of torque. When i did this with my regular tubes i was getting snake bites one or two times per day !!!It was freaky to change the tubes all the time on the trail. Now i don't have to worry about anything even if i loose pressure that i didn't even with the hole in the tier i can pump it up again with my small pump and i am ready to go again in half a minute.I was talking to a dude in the mountain that told me that he has his tubeless system for 2 years and he didn't even pump the tiers up.

Also i want you to know that there is myth about tubeless that you must have a air compressor or co2 pump to put air in your tiers. That is a big lie i did both tiers with one foot pump and i also did it with my small hand pump that i have with me all the times. And one tier was not even tubeless ready. So don't be afraid to convert your bicycle tiers to tubeless if you do downhill or freeride even with the ebikes extra weight the system works perfectly.Especially if you are having large tiers because some of the tubes for larger tiers are so expensive and not worth it.

At least the guy on the scooter's elbow will be protected in an accident! Lol! Nice video though!

LoL when i ride this thing i am more protected than you might think so.Body armor , goggles , gloves and ofc full face helmet.
Also if you are well protected it is way better to have an accident on a bicycle than have it on a motorcycle. The reasons are a lot.
Bicycle is more agile ,it has less total weight and finally the body takes damage much better if you are under any kind of work out ;) so if you have your gear on most likely you will get lett injuries in theory at least hehehe

Next one is getting edited and will be here soon. This time with a normal view :p
I am experimenting with the bikes CA settings so i get the maximum range out of the bicycle.

On the next video i have the power limited at 350 watts and in flat ground i was able to go 40 km/h with only this small load...
The other time i did 50kilometers distance with only 6 amp hours out of 8 that i can practically use out of my battery pack. The power was limited at 500 watts .
I want to believe that i can get to 70 kilometers at 350 watts with some effort from my part and ofc without getting myself sweating.

nice one. looks crazy hektic in the city!

Heheheheh yea you are so right a hektic place a city can be !!!
I wanted to have this ugliness on tape to compare it with the beauty of the mountain when i go for a ride again ;)

I'm having trouble with my PC editing, she's a bit old.
What software are you using? PC or Mac?

PC a freeware i found its called VideoPad Video Editor easy to use and has the basic things i wanted.

Cool video.

lol its a dizzy crappy video :p only 11:30-11:50 is fun and the music. The ride had its fun anyhow racing with an XT for fun and fooling around with the terrain.

thanks for your kind words anyhow :p

Just don't watch it in full screen its better

It was nice scenery anyway, looked like a good ride up the mountain . Much more fun with a motor hey? ;)

When we did this ride with regular bicycles i was one step before spiting out my internal organs. Its no run climbing an off road trail without a motor ;)

Latest update i finally sold an 8Fun kit i was having and i took three more 6s1p 20C Zippy's so today i was waked by the nice dude that delivered the batteries and some goodies (cables, connectors and a celllog)

I made three new balance wires so i can have 3x6s1p packs paralleled permanently. Also i made three new parallel harness wires with bullet connectors for each new 3p pack's.Lucky me all new packs where in good shape no bad cells or anything so i putted some heat sink thingy on em to protect them a little bit and connected them all together.I removed the pack from the bicycle triangle FalconEV bag and i placed it on a backpack.I want to see if its comfortable to ride with a 75V15Ah battery on your back.I am not that pleased bit i think a little tweaking with the cable might make it ok to ride on road but not so good on the trail after all.

I have a question about balancing the three 6s3p packs. Can i have the 6s3p packs permanently balanced via the balance wires i made ?I took some JST-XH extensions cut em to pieces :) and made some 3x female to 1x male JST-XH connector.
The question is can i parallel all the 6s3p packs individually with one of the JST-XH balance leads i made and then connect the main battery leads in series without anything weird happening ?

Thanks mates

I will post some pictures when i finish the wire tuning to the backpack and everything.

Did i told you how good i am on MsPaint :p

This is how i want to finally connect the battery witch is more clear.

The Green line is the balance wires.

A total of 9x6s1p packs 3x6s3p in series.

Do _NOT_ parallel your balance leads while is all in series, it will short circuit and blow some balance connectors.
Edit
Sorry just put that up their before I had time to understand totally what u meant...
Each parallel bunch of 6s x 3 should be paralleled via balance leads to help eliminate differences in cell capacity.

I just want to parallel each 6s3p packs then make the series connection.(ofc i was not planning to connect the paralleled balance leads together)

1 - 2 - 3 think of this numbers as 6s3p packs right now i have pack 1 and 3 with balance leads wired in parallel. The middle one i have not parallel the balanced leads.

But i don't want to parallel the balance leads of the pack 1 and 2 or 3 just parallel each 6s3p packs so the cells are all paralleled.

I am telling it again because it might not be clear the way i wrote it.Stupid English
