Emaayan, Mitch asked you indirectly to stop quoting half pages. I'm going to ask you directly- please stop bloating the thread with lazy unedited quotes.
Yes, I can appreciate that but I find a bicycle motorized or not starts to feel a little too fast once you start hitting over 30 MPH which the Bafang will do.speedmd said:The two are very different setups. The GNG1 that I modded is loud and much faster/powerful in comparison. With 40 plus amps at 75 volts it accelerates like a relatively fast motorcycle. Completely different rides. It also does not suffer from being overly complex on the electrical side. On the mechanical side it does push the envelope of standard bike parts but I was able to get a narrow BB to work, with two rings up front. If the belt setup like the LR was available when I was building it I would have gone that route for certain. The BBS02 is clean, simple, quiet mechanically, but your stuck with proprietary parts when it goes. My experience has been that the bbs02 is no more reliable. I hope it proves otherwise long term. It certainly will never fly like one of these kits when using its stock controller.

I wish him the best of luck but bringing a product or kit to market that has any amount of problems is a big headache.
So what? Build what you want to build, who cares if it meets someone's definition of a "bike"?I should also point out that deeper you travel into making custom bike parts harder, the further its stops being a bike...

Some people think having any electric assist at all, even 250 watts, means it stop being a "bike"!

If the motor is twisting on the frame and requires hose-clamps then I don't think it is ready for prime time. I thought the kit was suppose to eliminate all the problems of the original one?
At some power level it is no longer a bicycle and becomes a motorcyle but a crude one at that.
Also exposed belts and chains seems like they would become catchalls for pant legs etc.
