Want to compare different Lithium Batteries size and weight. Want the smallest and lightest battery to power my electric bike project # 2. To make the compition fair can we make them all 48V 20Ah? Lets make them all assembled with charger. No single cells please.

Please list size as cubic inches, and weight as pounds. mm and kg, OK for you metric people.

Here's the first one.
GBP Battery Co / 48V 20Ah Li-ion
185 x 165 x 150 mm (7.28" x 6.5" x 5.91") (280 cubic inches)
8.90 kg (19.62 Lb)

There a bunch of types of Lithium out there. Lithium polymer would be the smallest and lightest.

I found this 48V, 10Ah brick at itselectric.ca.
Weight 7.7 LBs
5.51 x 3.38 x 10"
140*86*255 mm
So double that for your 20A pack

thats 327 cubic inches for both packs, 15.4 pounds total. I called them, and it does include the BMC in each pack.

Thats not the lightest Lipo possible, either.
Incidentaly, I asked Itselectric about the stats they list for their LiFePO4 cells, and they told me its wrong on the website. they haven't recieved them yet, so they have no idea what they'll be.

Great idea, this is the ideal size & range for my LWB recumbent bike.

I'll start my research and help with your project.

Drunkskunk,
You make math mistake, 372 cubic inches for both packs. Thanks for finding that battery.

Come on all you Boys and Girls. This is a competition. Lets find the smallest and lightest Lithium Battery on this planet.

The lightest cells are RC foil pouch Lipo's .. Lithium Cobalt chemistry.

Your ( LiMn? ) above are in metal cases with threaded lugs.. they add weight.. so not the lightest...

LiFe are 20% heavier than LiMn of equal capacity but depending on packaging it all adds up.

There is ALOT more than weight to consider when building a battery " Pack " ... hot melt glue and rubber bands won't protect a pack in the event of an ' Event " .. lol...

Foil pouch.... OK looks like Pop Tarts. Is anyone selling assembled pack with charger? About 48V 20Ah?

I don't have a great knowledge of electricity and batteries. But I can build or buy a really nice plastic box. Don't worry.... Any battery on my bike will be protected by a beautiful plastic box.
