Hello,

I recently ended up replacing the m600 reduction gear and controller. I think I burnt the controller because I connected the motor before disconnecting the battery. I also had the controller calibrated but for some reason the speed is not being sensed even after replacing the speed sensor. There is a 2 wire wire connector in the motor connection compartment with small black wires as shown in the attached image.
What is that for?
Does this motor have hall sensors?
In the process of closing the motor I had the two wires pinched but I did repair that connection. could that have something to do with the motor not sensing the speed?
Or would do 2 black wires be for the torque sensor?
and would a bad torque sensor be the problem?
The best tool did not throw any faults. Also when it was being calibrated the motor ran smoothly through the Best tool.

The connector with 2 black wires is from the motor temperature sensor located in the motor stator.

This motor does not have hall sensor and it uses a magnetic rotary encoder chip installed on the controller and the magnet on the motor shaft tip to sense the rotor position.

If you got pinched and cut or shortened the white wires from that big connector there is a possibility you affected the speed sensor because of the speed sensor signal, ground and voltage go through that harness. If you have a multimeter and you can check if there is a shortage or no connection.

The two black wires is the motor temperature sensor. The PAS/Torque sensor is that 6 pins connector with 6 white wires.

The torque sensor and the speed sensor are independent so bad torque sensor should not affect the speed sensor except there are rules about it in the firmware.

If the display does not show speed but shows the battery charge level then the CAN communication wires are probably OK and not the issue.

If the Bafang controller does not work you can solder the VESC based Luna M600 Ludicrous V2 controller we reversed recently

The controller and display are new. But, it is a compatible Bafang display from Varstrom. Everything works on it except no speed reading at all. I changed the display because it had a crack, but there was no speed reading with the original display either. The motor only runs from the Besst software. I only pinched the 2 black wires. This is for the Volt bravo core bike. I am not sure if the torque sensor for its firmware would affect the speed reading. Thank you
