Hello everyone!

I want to convert a dirtbike to electric, a 250 or a 450 frame.

Between the shock and tire should be just enough space to squeeze in a water cooled and geared QS138, this would have two benefits:
- It leave the entire frame to fill up with batteries for a longer range.
- It allows me to run a belt if necessary, to be more incognito riding through the city/fields.

Is there anything I'm missing here except for the slightly worse suspension performance because of the unsprung weight?
I can't think of anything currently, but oversight can be killing.
Thanks for the input!

You also lose the drawbacks/benefits of chain tension affecting your suspension. The bike ends up acting more like a very torquey but somehow lightweight hub motor is propelling it. There are plenty of builds here with a mid drive motor on the swingarm. Go for it!

Those look awesome! I heard some people saying the torque of the motor would affect the suspension performance, but I had a hard time believing that so I thought I'd check. Thanks!
